I had my annual vision check-up a few weeks ago. I was warmly greeted by the staff. In particular, Yoshi assisted me in the selection of contacts and was extremely helpful. Dr. Cory Rath examined my vision. He carefully and meticulously explained the health of my eyes during the examination. Dr. Rath was extremely kind, knowledgeable and courteous. His expertise, professionalism and compassion meant a great deal to me.

We had such a wonderful experience with Yoshi! My daughter was getting fitted for contact lenses for the very first time, and she was nervous. Yoshi was incredibly patient, kind, and encouraging every step of the way. She took the time to carefully explain the process multiple times, answered all of our questions, and never made us feel rushed.
Yoshi calmed my daughter, celebrating small victories, and making the entire fitting process a positive experience. By the end of the visit, my daughter felt confident and excited about her new contacts, which is something I honestly didn't expect when we first walked in!
It's rare to find someone who combines such technical expertise with genuine compassion and warmth. I'm so grateful for the care and attention we received, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Yoshi to anyone.
I brought my mom in to get an eye exam and glasses.. One of the attendants, I believe her name was Yoshi was phenomenal. She spent extra time making sure that my mom was taken care of. Considering the fact that my mom is in her mid 70s. I felt comfortable leaving her in the office while I did some shopping. When I came back, she was smiling and everyone made sure they handled her with dignity, respect, and kindness. I would definitely bring my mom back again.
I am stunned by the sheer incompetence and arrogance of the office manager, Yoshi. Her complete lack of accountability, honesty, and basic communication skills is alarming. Frankly, it is astounding that someone so unqualified is allowed to represent Costco in any capacity.
From start to finish, my experience was a masterclass in how not to handle customers. I scheduled a contact lens appointment -- nowhere was I told that this automatically meant an eye exam. I explained I already had a valid prescription from a recent exam, yet Yoshi never once disclosed that another exam would be required. Instead, when confronted, she tried to twist the situation and pin the blame on me. That is not "miscommunication" -- that is deception.
To make matters worse, I completed paperwork indicating "contacts only," yet at the end of my visit, I was slapped with charges for an exam I never agreed to. This is not just unprofessional; it borders on fraudulent. If I had been told the truth upfront, I would have walked out immediately. Instead, Yoshi kept me in the dark, then acted as though I was the problem for questioning it.
When I attempted to address the issue afterward, Yoshi's behavior became even more disgraceful. She was dismissive, rude, and condescending. She accused me of "yelling" simply because I had to raise my voice over background noise (construction/drilling in my backyard) -- then used that as an excuse to hang up and refuse service. This wasn't professionalism. This was a cowardly attempt to play the victim and silence a paying customer.
Yoshi is not simply bad at her job -- she is toxic to the customer experience. She lacks integrity, she avoids accountability, and she actively creates conflict where none should exist. She is the textbook example of someone completely unfit for a management role.
The doctor may be competent, but any credibility this office might have is destroyed the second a customer has to deal with Yoshi. It's no wonder this location is drowning with a 2.9-star rating. If Costco values its reputation, it should remove her immediately. Because right now, she is not a manager -- she is a liability.
Run run run...do not use Red Rock Vision. The doctor leaves town for weeks with no coverage. The staff are like robots. Unkind and unprofessional. The doctor says one thing and then leaves town. Currently out of town for 2 more weeks after just being out of town for two weeks. Leaving a practice without coverage seems to be the norm. This practice is occupying space in Costco without a hint of anything like Costco. They take your money and disappear. Left hanging....more than disappointing. Just don't go!!
I saw Dr. Martin today at Red Rock Vision inside Costco. I had such an amazing experience. The care, time spent, questions answered were fantastic. I had such a good experience I scheduled an appointment for my wife on the spot!
Dr. Rastegar is thorough, professional, and takes the time to explain your options and answer your questions. Highly recommended!
If you're looking to see the same doctor annually, or receive polite service at the front desk go elsewhere. We've been customers here for 5 years. We came because of the convenience of being inside Costco even though Red Rock Vision is not covered by our Davis Vision insurance. Our goal was simple, get in, get a prescription, get out. For 5 years we have paid cash to Red Rock Vision, and submitted for reimbursement though our insurance out of network provider benefit. Yesterday, after 5 years of being customers, Red Rock Vision refused to sign a simple paper they have signed for 5 years stating we received service so that we could seek reimbursement from our insurance. To top it off, the front desk person was exceptionally rude and condescending about the whole thing. They stated "We have never signed reimbursement forms". I had copies of the last 5 years forms, and after showing digital copies from my iCloud account, they rudely said "well we don't do it anymore". If you don't do it anymore, then you shouldn't have taken my money when I said I'll pay cash and get reimbursed from my insurance. A person with basic customer service skills could have handled this with much more class and care, but instead they wasted 90 minutes of my life and ultimately refused to sign a single piece of paper they have signed for 5 years. We have 4 people in our household, none of us will be returning.
