Mgm insurance. I will be switching providers as they gave me a new prescription for contact lenses and did not give me any pairs to take home to make sure the prescription is good. I call and go to pick them up and all they give me is just one contact for each eye. All other doctors offices send you home with a few pairs for each eye.
After visiting this office twice for exams I finally feel like I found two great eye doctors. I saw Dr. Davis and Dr. Linda on two separate exams and both were very caring, knowledgeable and so helpful with the concerns I had with my vision. I haven't worn contacts since 2018 because of the discomfort they give me but Dr. Linda prescribed me a brand I never heard of and they are the most comfortable contacts I've ever worn. I can wear them for 14 hours and it doesn't even feel like I'm wearing them. Recently I ordered frames from their office and Holly helped me find two pairs. It usually takes me a long time to find lenses I like but with her help I found a new pair in minutes. I highly recommended this office.
I am super happy I chose this as my new eye doctor. All of my appointments have been seamless, with no wait time at all. I was given options regarding my eye care and a convenient way to make payments towards my purchases. And most of all, I felt a genuine care and concern regarding my needs from Dr Davis and all of her staff. Highly recommended!
I thought it was time for new glasses. The optometrist said my glasses were fine but sent me to Meadows Eye for cataracts.
Everyone told me Medicare covered cataracts but I guess they were wrong
I going to find a place that takes Medicare, as I can't afford $1,400 co pay.
I came in for an exam on 12/15/23 and used insurance for my glasses Rx, but paid out of pocket to get my contacts Rxs updated in the same visit (about $82). I was given my glasses prescription and some sample contacts to take home, and told to call back in a few days to let them know how the contacts worked. I called back as instructed and confirmed everything was good to go as far as fit and functionality, and was even able to purchase a year's supply of contact lenses from another provider. Fast forward to now, I need to purchase a new supply of contacts and my orders kept getting canceled citing that Vision Source denied my having a contacts prescription with them. When I called today to ask for my contacts Rx, I was told it was accessible through the portal and rushed off the phone. I visited the portal and there weren't any prescriptions listed, for glasses or for contacts. I called back and spoke to a different woman, Holly, who told me that since I never physically showed up in the office to tell them how my contacts worked out for me, they never finalized my prescription and I shouldn't have been able to order any contacts to begin with. So I asked where my money went because my insurance didn't cover the two exams, only the glasses, and I came out of pocket for the contacts. She kind of scoffed and said that since it was last year, there's nothing she can do but schedule me to come in for a whole new exam (which means more out of pocket expense for me). I asked why I was told that I could just call to finalize the prescription instead of coming in if showing up in person was a requirement, and also why they were able to approve the first order of contacts in the meantime. She said she didn't know because there weren't any notes in their system documenting that conversation I had with them last year. So now, with 11 days left in the year I have to scramble to find a new eye doctor, get in for an exam (which is going to cost more $$$ out of pocket and good luck with holiday closures and Christmas right around the corner) just to obtain a prescription that I already paid for (which wouldn't even be expired yet if they had kept accurate records for their patients). It seems like because I didn't come back to PURCHASE my contacts through them and opted to source them from somewhere more affordable, they're holding onto my prescription AND my money. I got a "yeah, that's the policy. Not sure why you were able to get contacts. Whoever you spoke to didn't leave notes. Well...sorry" and that's that. Didn't offer to help make it right or problem solve or even offer me an appointment to come in for a new exam! Horrible customer service. Very shady, would give no stars if I could. Buyers beware! They'll get you on a technicality to keep your money and your prescription unless you're buying contacts from them directly.
Dr Linda next to her dad is probably the best optometrist I've been to. Here they actually car about your eye health. They take the time to answer all your questions. There is no rush rush with the exam. People post about the turn around time for your eye glasses to arrive. I would rather get a thorough exam done correctly and be patient with a few days waiting for glasses to arrive. I have issues with my eyes and the advice I've gotten over the past few years have kept my vision in check. Major plus here: if you don't need a new prescription they will tell you. My former office had me ordering new glasses every year, they probably didn't get the exam correct in the first place. Amy was so helpful with explaining my insurance coverage. Sometimes insurance coverage doesn't always work the way we want it to. Her patience with me was greatly appreciated and again..helpful. Glasses is like buying a car, you can get all the bells and whistles or just the basics, your decision. They offer what may make you wearing your glasses more comfortable and easier to adapt to your life. Again..your decision I recommend this office for your eye needs.
"Had to leave in the middle of my appointment due to them making a mistake four weeks before my appointment began." *Update per response below*
I called four weeks ago to ask if this doctor took my insurance. I gave them my policy number and all my info and they said we take that insurance all the time you're all set. So I set an appointment right away. (Keep in mind they texted me once a week confirming my appointment. Also calling days before). I go to my appointment. They bring me back, start doing my exam but halfway through my exam they come running back saying "we aren't able to take your insurance". You'll have to pay out-of-pocket. It'll be $130 for the exam and since you decided to do the back of the eye scan which is an extra $30 (keep in mind this is when I thought my appointment was only gonna cost me $20) that would be $160. I said well can you offer me some sort of discount they made me an offer of taking $10 off the price. $10 dollars of $160 when I thought my appointment was gonna be $50 was crazy to me. I just can't believe they had so much time to check each week calling and texting if I was gonna be there. But didn't bother to check if they could take my insurance four weeks ago when I specifically called to ask if they took my insurance. There excuse was we tried to call last week but everyone was out for the holidays. That's why I called four weeks ago. Even if I have a different insurance I will not be returning as I wouldn't trust them to be honest. I wouldn't recommend coming here even if you have an insurance that works with them as they probably won't even check until half way through your appointment.
Update per your response: if you had read my initial review I outlined both the things you just said. The problem is the discount you offered was minuscule in comparison to the gravity of your error and beyond that you failed to check the insurance four weeks prior when that was my first request. You procrastinated till the holidays and cut me off mid appointment because even after the holidays past you failed to call them prior to my appointment.
I recently took my elderly father to Dr Davis's office for new glasses. Due to his health conditions he is hard of hearing, gets confused easily and has difficultly expressing himself. Dr Davis was so patient and caring with my father and took as much time as it needed to ensure his prescription was perfect.
The front office staff are just as amazing. My parents are on a fixed income and the technician found him a discontinued pair of demo frames that fit his prescription and did not charge him for the frames.
A few weeks later my father felt that his glasses were broken. They were not but due to delusions related to his condition the our family could not convince him that they were fine. We took him to Dr Davis's office and the front office staff took time from their busy day to recheck the fit, examined the glasses and reassured him that there was nothing wrong with them alleviating his concern.
I cannot say enough about Dr Davis and his staff, I wish every medical office was a amazing as his.
