Patel Eye Associates

The eye doctor is great and deserves a 4 start. Just don't get your glasses from here. It has been over a month of me stopping by and calling to get my daughter's glasses that I paid for. No one has called me back or been helpful with answers. I even asked for them to get me a new script from the doctor so I can get another pair else where until the glasses came in.

I had a great experience at Patel Eye Associates in New Jersey. Nisha at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, making the check-in process quick and easy. Dr. Patel was kind, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The office was clean and well-organized. I would definitely recommend them for excellent eye care

My experience with this office was mixed. Overall, there were both positive and frustrating aspects. The young woman at the front desk was polite and friendly. While I do wish my situation had been explained more clearly to whoever needed to approve it, she handled the interaction professionally and I appreciated her efforts because I got the approval, I needed to be able to have my appointment as scheduled. Shavonne (Shae) truly stood out. She was warm, personable, and made me feel very comfortable throughout the visit. She was amazing. Her conversation and demeanor were excellent, and based on my experience with her alone, she deserves five stars. She was wonderful. The next staff member who conducted my testing was also very polite and well-mannered. My only concern was that she appeared to be taking personal phone calls during the process, which was a bit distracting, but she handled muti-tasking extremely well. Dr. Shah provided a great deal of helpful and informative insight regarding my condition, which I genuinely appreciated. However, his delivery felt somewhat course and abrupt at times, particularly when discussing my weight (esp. because he is NOT a small man) and I did not feel given adequate opportunity to ask questions without being interrupted. Additionally, my time with him was frequently interrupted by staff members asking him questions about other ongoing appts, which felt unprofessional and made the appointment feel rushed. While the visit became frustrating at moments, I ultimately did receive the information I needed.

Technician Shay was an amazing technician making the process so much easier. Her optimism and positive attitude made the appointment that much better. Her professionalism and care was outstanding. I highly recommend asking for her.

I normally dont leave reviews but being that this apt was for my daughter i left the office very unsatisfied. First when i made the apt it was scheduled with dr shah, when i went in she was seen by dr steinberg. I do want to say the office staff front desk and 2 guys that did her testing before she saw the dr were all very nice. After waiting for 2 hours to be seen by the dr we finally get called back, dr walks in, doesnt really introduce himself and just starts asking as to why my daughter was there, after i explained my concerns which seemed completely dismissed by him he proceeds to examine. As he places the machine infront of her and is doing his exam hes asking her to not move but i completely undestand she has to be still. ( mind you shes 5 years old) at one point he asks her to move back alittle and i guess she wasnt understanding what he was saying so he repeats himself, and saids to her " your doing things right your just alittle slow". Finishes his examinations i continue to explain that shes coming home from school everyday complaing of headache. He goes and saids" maybe she just doesnt like school. At this point im already annoyed because everything im saying seems to be disregarded and a joke. There is no reason why my daughter would be making up she has a headache after school every afternoon. When even her teacher had mentioned it to me that shes complained of headche during school hours. He goes "she doesnt seem to need glasses i dont think that will help with the problem but heres a preacription for glasses anyways."So at this point i felt like hes giving my daughter a prescription for glasses just to give her something not because you think she needs them or because your even hearing my concern. I was also explaining my concern with her one eye that upon sunlight seems to shift and she saids her eye hurt and she squints but again non of my concern had a straight forward answer. At the end someone else walks in the room and the dr goes oh give me 1 second ill be right out.. so i waited 2 hrs to be seen by dr steinberg, completed dismissed my concerns , really didnt get a straight answer as to her eye shifting, felt the apointment rushed after waiting 2 hrs to be seen and only 10 minutes in the exam room with dr steinberg, and left the office with a glasses prescription that at this point im not even sure my daughter needs since the dr himself wasnt convinced she needed them.

Dr.Patel did my surgery and went well. Thank you doctor. Dr. Patel is very nice. He has a very steady hand. Visit with Shay was good.

went in for a routine eye exam, and during the eye pressure test, the instrument made direct contact with my right eye. Immediately after, I developed constant pain and excessive tearing that did not resolve. This is not an expected outcome of a standard pressure check and required further medical evaluation. This was my first visit to this office, and the experience raises serious concerns about technique, patient safety, and post-incident response. Patients should not leave a routine exam in pain. I hope the clinic reviews its procedures and takes accountability to ensure this does not happen to others

I've been a patient, on and off, at Patel Eye Associates for over a decade. Dr. Patel is easily one of the best doctors I've ever seen, in any field. He is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and really cares about his patients. He listens to, and addresses all my questions and concerns. His staff is also very personable and professional. Any issues I've run into over the years, they have done their best to accommodate me. I could not recommend him, or this office, highly enough.
