Dr. Robert M. Scharfman, MD

Mother in law was scheduled and went through every test and even seen a Specialist to get the okay that all she needed was Dr. S and he was all confident that he was going to do the surgery UNTIL five days beforehand, after he found out she was going to do the payment plan. When called to ask why, what exactly changed...and all he did was get angry and yell and hang up on my wife! No explanation other than he's incompetent and will try and get every penny he can out of you up until your surgery! careful!

I made an appointment for my Uncle to see Dr. Scharfman. They went over dates and times available. We arrive to the office and a heavyset girl leaning back in her chair rolled her eyes and proceeded to highlight forms we needed to fill out. Then we are called into an exam room and a Dr K says "Hi I am Dr K". Before examining my 85yo Uncle, he stayed that he will need cataract surgery. I said " you did not examine him yet"!! He proceeds to do eye exams and dilated eyes. Says he will do peripheral vison teat. not Done! Says you need cataract surgery on both eyes and you should schedule today for November and 2 weeks apart. I asked where is Dr Scharfman? He said when you get measured for cataract lenses you will meet him. I said " you mean he is not even here?" He said no. Then I went to make an appointment and so limited. He only operates in Eatontown. Not an issue but how dare they not tell us ahead of time thatbwr would not be seeing Dr Scharfman. Then says he needs cataract surgery before an exam! And pushy. NOT a good experience and felt like it was unfair and sneaky to have "Dr K" recruit surgical candidates!

Today is Wednesday November 13th, I had cataract eye surgery by Dr. Robert Scharfman on Monday the 11th. My first appointment was scheduled for 11:45. I was seen promptly at 11:45. His office staff is very efficient and very friendly. The technicians who preform the initial eye exam are proficient and very well schooled in using his state of the art equipment. Surgery was flawless.Every move they made to prepare me for surgery was explained and every question I asked was answered promptly. The following day I saw Dr. Scharfman who advised me that all had gone well and what to expect during the healing process. I had a list of questions for him that he was happy to answer. The entire surgery from start to finish was excellent. I was astoneshed at how well I can see and am looking forward to getting my other eye done in a few weeks. Dr. Scharfman and his staff are excellent and I would certainly recommend him to anyone.

Dr Scharfman recently performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes, 2 wks apart. I have to say the procedures & follow up appointments were flawless. The office staff are very nice and professional. I would recommend Dr Scharfman to whoever is looking for a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, he is kind, knowledgeable and thorough.

Terrible customer service on phone. Lady had the biggest attitude, hung up on me & refused me medical care after burning my eye & having no vision in it.

I went for the first time and had an absolute amazing experience. Everyone, from the front office staff, to all the medical staff that saw me was extremely nice and professional. Every test done was explained thoroughly, and everyone made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Scharfman is very knowledgeable and has great bedside manners. I definitely recommend this practice 100%.

I just had my first cataract surgery for my left eye and should have had it done years ago. I just had my first post-op appointment with dr Scharfman and I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW my cataract is no more. He is an amazing doctor and only wants to do the best for his patients.office staff is the nicest staff you could ever meet and everyone treats you with respect and you can't find a more caring one Colleen the surgical coordinator is awesome and Jackie too everyone is wonderful. Cannot wait to get my right eye done in 2 weeks thanks dr Scharfman you are the best
