I had a very disappointing experience at the Princeton location of Outlook Eye Care, specifically with the front desk staff.
I was charged separately for a contact lens exam even though my insurance confirmed the service was covered. The front desk insisted it was not covered and required payment.
After confirming again with my insurance that it should have been covered, I tried calling the office to clarify the billing issue. Unfortunately, my calls were disconnected without any explanation.
I expected better transparency in billing and more professional communication. Patients deserve clear information and respectful customer service, especially when it comes to insurance matters.
Dr. Ritterbusch is so lovely and kind, she's thorough and explains things very well, takes all of my concerns seriously and is pleasant to chat to besides. She has a reassuring energy and always gives helpful advice and really cares.
though the reception staff can sometimes be difficult, I think the other reviews are a bit harsh
Comparing to my last visit a few months ago, all the stuff, including the front-desk receptionists and the assistants, were much more friendly, professional, and efficient. Very impressed by the change. Dr. Coleman is as good as usual.
I have had styes for now 5 weeks. I was recommended by my optician to contact another doctor, who was closed for the weekend. Monday, doc on vacation until Tuesday. Wednesday: contact Outlook. Made 10am appt. Arrived at 9:30. Saw nurse at 10:30. Back to waiting room. Doc at 10:45. Yeah, just keep steaming eyes and providing pressure they'll go away. Seriously? 3 hours wasted. Doc doesn't believe styes are bacterial or should be lanced and cleared or spread when this one clearly did, but if you wait until 9-10 weeks, still there, make another appointment!
Hot weather blew up my allergies, so now I have the same styes since August on top of swollen lids due to allergies.
Gotta love healthcare! That'll be 60$ for wasting your time, have a nice day!
Dr. Ritterbusch is excellent. However, the office is managed POORLY. I needed to get my eyes dilated but wasn't informed before the appointment. So, I scheduled a 2nd appointment but the morning of the appointment, I didn't know if I would need someone to drive me home. The office phone number wouldn't ring until 10 AM, and I had to hang up after 30 min. Their call back function didn't work. I'm unsure if I will return.
It is poorly managed office. Have taken an appointment 3 weeks ago providing all details of insurance. It is only when I reached the office for the appointment, they are saying that the insurance is not covered! Nobody is accountable in that office!
I went to see Margaret Ritterbusch (for my yearly check up) and her appointment was so rushed and quick that I left with doubts that I had even had a thorough check up. I also feel that the prescription I received was not quite accurate, as she whisked me through the whole process. When I went to get new glasses, I realized how off the prescription actually was. It seemed like she was so nonchalant that she just didn't care about me as a patient. I also had a horrible and rude experience with the tech who did the preliminary testing, as she was also very short and impatient. I am now looking for a different doctor for my yearly exams where I can actually feel assured that my eye health is being taken seriously.
Writing this review on behalf of my mother. She was scheduled to see Dr. Shovlin today for dacrocystitis. The appointment was cancelled 1 hour prior to the scheduled time due to the weather. The receptionist was extremely rude with a terrible attitude. She could not provide an appointment earlier than 2-3 months and was very condescending.
As a subspecialized physician myself, I understand the difficulties of scheduling that come with a busy practice. It is unfortunate that our experience with the entire practice was marred by a single individual. Will not be returning and will not recommend this practice.
