I visited Dr. Carrie B. Strauss Kislin at Corey M. Notis, MD / Associates in Eyecare-Springfield for a basic vision exam. I was told I had a high risk of glaucoma and was pushed to schedule a comprehensive exam and buy expensive glasses from their center. I bought glasses at Costco instead, but both prescriptions Dr. Kislin gave me were incorrect, causing headaches and unclear vision. Thankfully, Costco accepted the returns.
I escalated the issue to the clinic manager, who promised that Dr. Jodie I. Lucia-Ricci would recheck my vision during the comprehensive exam. After I paid for the expensive exam, Dr. Lucia-Ricci refused to check my vision and told me to go elsewhere. I was also strongly encouraged to have eye surgery, even though an assistant told me my vision looked very good for my age.
Neither I nor my family doctor ever received any exam results from this clinic.
I later saw two other eye doctors--one abroad and one in Millburn, NJ--who both confirmed I did not need surgery. They recommended only simple +1.00-1.25 reading glasses, which work well for me.
Based on my experience, I do not recommend Dr. Kislin, Dr. Lucia-Ricci, or Associates in Eyecare-Springfield.
Extremely busy practice. Ample parking. Knowledgeable allied health personnel. Kind drs. Dismal follow-up with patients notifying patients waiting to be seen. I no longer will wait more than 10-15 minutes for my appointment at any practice. I show up to my appointment early/on time and expect to be seen within 10-15 minutes of my SCHEDULED appointment.
I give 1 star for consistently waiting to be seen. I give the allied health personnel 3.5 for not following up with folks waiting to be seen or not being conscious of who has been waiting for x amount of time and giving the courtesy of the explaining the delay.
Highly unprofessional, rude, disgusting behavior from receptionists. There is one white elderly woman that is kind but the others eat popcorn, use their phones, and can't seem to greet or welcome guests properly. Doctor rushed and said my eye was fine but 2nd opinion it's NOT!!!!!! Complete waste of time and energy. Never TF again!
Second time seeing Dr Kislin for a routine exam and both times I found her kind and professional. I didn't have much of a wait for my appointment either so kind of surprised by some of the reviews complaining of wait times, however, maybe the time of day I scheduled just worked out well. For example, when my appointment was over the first time around the place was pretty packed. It may be best to ask when the least amount of wait time may be. There was some confusion with the eyeglass store downstairs when it came to my insurance and what was covered so that is another story but upstairs, at the actual dr's office, I thought everyone was pleasant and the experience was easy and stress free.
Great doctors! I've been going there for years but the atmosphere isn't the best in the front and sometimes I'm hesitant to make an appointment because I'll have to speak with one of them. But I won't stop going because I believe they're one of the best and largest around!
Horrible place to be. I waited for 2 hours without no one taking the time to help me. They ask the patients to be on time for the appointment but they have no regards for the patience's time. They have too many staffs but no one to take care of their job. They have very little consideration for anyone. Great place to look at but not a great service.
My mommy gut told me to take my son to have his eyes checked after he was experiencing sudden light sensitivity. I was so relieved and grateful that the office put my son's appointment in as an "emergency" and he was able to be examined on the same day! The office is very nice; clean, comfortable, and inviting. The staff was just as pleasant in person as they were on the phone. Dr. Notis was wonderful with my son and explained everything thoroghly (and that put me at easy). At no point during our appointment did I feel rushed. Dr. Notis was highly recommending by people in my communiity, and he didn't disappoint. I'll be making an appointment for my other son to see him for a routine annual visit. Thank you for making our first time visit a pleasant one!
Dr. Lucci and Nicole were amazing. Came into the office today for emergency with my husband having a corneal abrasion, he was referred by his regular eye doctor to this office to see if he had a retinal detachment. They were warm, friendly, efficient and took excellent care of him during the exam and explained all for his treatment. Thankfully no detachment and he's doing much better already. Excellent care and service all around, from front desk to doctors and assistants, so very happy we went there!
