I have been verbally and mentally abused by the staff for 12 years and every time I spoke to Dr Lautenberg about it he promised he would take care of it and that never happened. He never protected me from his staff. I even spoke to the office manager and she verbally abused me too. Dr L took an oath to do no harm and he allowed it to happen. He allowed them to treat me so horrible. He never cared or took me serious and there were a few serious complaints I spoke to him about. The front desk and the phone staff are the most unprofessional, uncaring and have the worst attitudes ever. I left this practice after 12 years of abuse by them and Ive told the drs and the office manager several times and promised me they would take care of it and never have. They really need to go to sensitivity training on how to deal with patients with all kinds of problems. Shame on them and I hope they never get treated this bad in any dr office as they treated me in that office. I also think they are committing fraud by asking you to call out your credit/debit card # on a voice mail to pay your bill. People don't do that.

Not very happy with the staff and their attitudes. They are overwhelmed and much too busy to give me any smiles, information or advice. Dr. C's asst. definitely needs an attitude adjustment. I was early for my appointment, and it was like a Crime was committed. The front desk could've been nicer and told me to come back instead they said well take your chances and you can wait. And I know better. I've been in the medical profession for longer than these kids ages, they would never last in my office. A little kindness goes along way.

Excellent doctors, especially Dr. Spedick and Dr. Brooksbank and wonderful warm staff. Had another wonderful experience. Dr.Spedick is wonderful with kids - kids love the piggies he uses. The staff put the kids at ease and are able to conduct their exam well. They know what they are doing. Very thorough which I appreciate as a parent and patient!

Please go anywhere else. Front desk staff is unhelpful and uncaring. It's possible they are simply very busy and overwhelmed. When you arrive they may not even greet you. Good luck scheduling as a new patient. For an emergency or anything urgent, expect a 2 month waiting time, regardless of the level of urgency. The eye doctors my family has interacted with in the past are friendly and welcoming, but not necessarily thorough. It's hard not to feel like just a number given they are so busy.

I had a scratched cornea, and was in extreme pain, and needed to be seen immediately. They were closing but stayed open for me and saw me immediately. Impeccable care. I don't know what I would have done. The post care and follow up was also very compassionate. They are also very helpful with managing insurance approvals. We now use them for all our optical needs... exams, contacts, glasses. They are awesome.

My husband, Joe Lanni a retired Battalion Chief had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Jacklyn Mahgerefteh at Ocean Eye Institute this past April 2025. His result post-surgery was far beyond his expectations. His vision improved 8 lines on the eye chart. The surgery was relatively painless and recovery rapid and easy. Dr. Jacklyn and surgical staff were compassionate, informative and competent. He extends much gratitude to Dr. Jacklyn's entire office and the staff of the Seashore Surgical Institute. He highly recommends this practice for all types of eye care.

My husband had a piece of metal in his eye. I called 9am on a Saturday and they took him right in. Doctor he saw was phenomenal. They calmed his nerves and got it out. Gave him a Treatment plan and follow up in a couple days. The staff was professional and kind. Highly recommend!!

Dr Maghereftah is the best , very knowledgeable, kind and caring. Tiffany was on the ball, I think she can read the Doctor's mind. She was very efficient and kind. My prescription for Restasis was already being processed by the pharmacy before I left the office! Carla was also efficient, kind and caring. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful.
