Ocean Eye Institute: Spedick Michael J MD

The receptionist was incredibly rude. Upon inquiring about getting an appointment for my child she was incredibly dismissive when we told her what insurance we had, as if we were lesser for having this insurance. When we asked about paying out of pocket she was even ruder about that. Is money no good to these people? Disgusting behavior and I recommend looking elsewhere. After read some other reviews I'm glad the decision was made for us

Very few places where you can get a regular annual appointment for kids <6/8yrs. Thorough examination and kids friendly

Absolutely ridiculous office. They fired my 11yr old son bc of a missed appointment. I missed the appointment bc I had the flu. I even left a message on their on call service thst I needed to cancel my appointment. They didn't even go about firing him in the correct way. I only found out they were refusing to see him is bc I called their office to reschedule appointment. . They never even sent a letter or notified me. I guess Dr Spedick doesn't have any compassion for his patients for their care. I am a medical professional myself and work in an office setting. We would never fire a patient for a missed appointment. So unprofessional and ridiculous.

In 2024 I should not be receiving a call from my wife crying after how the appointment went with our autistic son at this office. We did have some miscommunication on our end with previous history that needed to be sent over and that was done. However at a very base level the support and the interaction she received from the technician who was in the room with her was completely unacceptable. She should not be put down about decisions we've made previously with our son and how we were treating his issues and she should not be clapped at by another adult. I understand everyone can have a bad day and maybe this was the case but this was such a colossal failure and how to treat people and how to handle people with disabilities. That I feel that strongly enough which I need to post this as a review because others need to be aware of it and at least prepared going into it.

I've been Dr. Spedick's patient for several years. Visiting his office is always a positive experience. His staff is pleasant, appointments are on time. He is patient and very personable. I have recommended him to family and friends. He's also good with children including my 10 year old grandson.

Dr. Spedick was great with my 6 month old. I was worried she would be too fussy to exam as it was her first time at an eye doctor. He had her giggling the entire time and was very quick. I would definitely recommend!

warm,courteous staff. Doctor Spedick and his team are competent and personable. His office is very child friendly too! highly recommend!

Love Dr.Spedick! In all the years my family has been coming to him we've had nothing but excellent care and exceedingly pleasant visits. I've never been to such a happy doctor.
