I wish I read the reviews prior to taking my son . I am not sure if it's the doctors that are unorganized but everything that comes out of that office is wrong . My son decides he wants contacts we take him they give him a prescription . Three months later the prescription is no good things are blurry . I assume things happen so we go back get another script and order the contacts again from the office. This time they order the wrong contexts they do not meet the prescription the doctor gave us . Maureen goes back and forth with me I am wrong . Finally three weeks later they figured it out that we are not wrong . All this tike my sons wearing the wrong reaction possibly damaging his eyes . At this point I lost confidence in the doctor and staff so I went to another eye doctor .New Doctor tells me they gave him the wrong prescription for his contacts. Then tell me the lenses they gave him are the wrong lens they do not even match the script they gave us . This place totally screwed the entire situation. Ireturn the contacts to the westifed office 3 months later still waiting for my refund . I have to call Maureen who runs the cedar knolls office . This lady does not have a clue how to run financials the doctor can't be too bright to leave someone like this in charge of his money . Maureen tells me she can not give me a refund unelsss I give her my credit card numbers . I say to Maureen just pull the batch and refund the money it's very simple . I take credit cards at my busiesss so I know how it's done . The reason they can not do it is because they do not save the batches , they just toss them out . I would not trust this office to do anything as they are incompetent at best .

This is the best pediatric ophthalmologist anywhere. Dr. Bernstein and staff are wonderful with children. He saved my daughter's eyesight by standing up to dissenting opinions. He was right.

We have been coming here for almost 2 years. And I so happy that we have found Dr Bernstein. First: Doctor's assistant is really friendly with my son who gets nervous all the time but she makes him feel much better. 2: Doctor is really good in terms of knowledge and giving the right diagnostic for small children. Other ophthalmologist only want to prescribe glasses to everyone but Dr Bernstein gives the right prescription and the best suggestion when it comes to little kids using glasses. His office needs a little update but I rather have a great ophthalmologist than a fancy place with a bad doctor.

Doesn't take insurance unless it's a follow-up appointment. People are looking for doctors they can actually see so you should remove yourself from the database if you don't actually take the insurance right off the bat. False advertisement...

I really like Dr. Bernstein and the doctor/nurse/amazing lady who works with my child before seeing Dr. Bernstein, but the office staff is difficult at best, and they make it very hard to make an appointment. For some reason I can never make a follow up appointment for my child as I leave. And the wait for the appointment when you arrive is ridiculous.

First - Dr. Bernstein gives excellent care and that is what is most important. Second - I really wish that the practice made some improvements to make life easier for us parents. For starters - there is no handicap access at this building, and there is no ramp. Don't bring your stroller. I asked about this and they said that they had an elevator but it was out of service that day. There is no diaper changing table, but in the bathroom there is a dirty old changing pad that they place on the floor underneath the sink. I had to change my baby on the floor, and good thing I had a portable pad with me. I'm tempted to buy them a new one. Lastly, there is no online patient portal or electronic method for receiving medical records - they can only fax or send via snail mail.

Both Dr. Bernstein and Dr. Mori are knowledgeable and extremely supportive. Our three month old baby was due for surgery and they met with us to explain the procedure, the risks/ benefits and anticipated outcome. We had canceled and rescheduled the surgery twice since we were weary about anesthesia related risks. They were understanding and cooperative, not losing their patience once. The Westfield office staff is also very helpful and friendly, I personally felt most comfortable with Stephanie who was especially supportive and informative. The waiting room is clean and spacious. The wait can vary anywhere from 30-40 minutes. If you are patient and able to wait it out, I would recommend this Dr. And his associate without reservation.

Highly recommend. The entire staff & Dr. Bernstein were amazing with my son, who was terrified of going to the eye doctor. Thorough exam that kept my son interested & entertained.
