Arleo Eye Associates

I had a very disappointing and unsafe experience at this office. It started with a rude interaction over the phone while making my appointment, and I was not informed that my pupils would need to be dilated. After driving myself there, I felt very uncomfortable driving home afterward but had no other choice. I believe patients should be informed in advance so they can make other travel arrangements. When I arrived, the front desk staff and nurse were pleasant, but the doctor's care was unacceptable. I came in for a stye that had developed into a chalazion. Instead of discussing proper treatment options, the doctor forcefully squeezed and pushed on my eyelid with her fingers and a Q-tip in an attempt to "pop or drain" it. From everything I've read and been told, this is not an appropriate or safe method, as it can cause further irritation or spread infection. I had already completed a 10-day course of antibiotics, yet she tried to prescribe another. I declined the antibiotics and asked why I would need another course and she didn't really have a good reason for it. My eyelid, which was not painful before the appointment, became sore and inflamed afterward due to the rough handling. It's still sore now hours later. I left feeling worse than when I came in and very concerned about the standard of care here.

Really poor experience. Always decent until a recent sale to Cayuga Med. Most recent experience had me waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time before even being called back. Got to the room and they informed me that they scheduled me for the wrong appointment so I waited all that time for nothing. Definitely not going back here again.

I have had cataracts for years and was too afraid to have them removed until I could no longer see out of one eye. I had Dr. Zablocki for surgery today on the first eye and I feel silly for how scared I was. The procedure was painless. Thestaff at surgicare was great. Arleo's office is big but very efficient and made everything very easy. Thanks for making that so easy. I just had the second eye done and I can say the same great things about Dr. Zablocki and surgicare.

I have only wonderful things to say about the Optical Department, most especially Carey, who runs the department. I've known her for many years, she is one of the warmest, professional woman I know. I value her advice (and expertise) on eyeglasses, her fittings to my small face are always perfect and I rely on her to always get it right. Dr. Arleo's office is well run, the staff are always nice and professional. I very much like Dr. Conroy and have received excellent care from her. But when returning back to Arleo Eye Associates, the thing that "sealed the deal" in my decision to return was that Carey was still there!

I highly recommend Arleo Eye Associates, and would go back again. They took me in quickly for a non-routine eye issue. My insurance was not in their network, but they reviewed all of the information with me in advance and clearly provided information about what I would owe for the visit. They were efficient, patient, flexible, and extremely helpful for my issue (which is now resolving). I had contacted other ophthalmologists in the area and the customer service at the staff at Arleo Eye Associates was far superior.

Expert, professional, friendly and informative are just a few reasons why I would recommend Dr. Arleo and his staff. My regular yearly visit is to follow up but-it was just a few years ago that although young, I had cataracts in both eyes. After being diagnosed, having cataract surgery and since then having regular follow up visits, I can say how wonderful the staff has been. I am forever grateful for the care they took in saving my eyesight. Everything from beginning to end, staff is there to walk you through what is needed, what to expect and answer your questions.

Returned to Arleo today as needed information about receiving cataract surgery. The receptionist was very helpful, the assistants to the doctor were equally helpful, and Dr. Stockwin herself was exactly what I needed. She explained that it could be up to me to decide when was the right time for me to have the surgery that I do need in the future. She explained clearly about several aspects of my eyes and I found the entire experience to be very helpful. Thanks to everyone who helped to make this appointment so worthwhile.

Just completed my second cataract surgery with Dr Arleo and have to say I am thrilled with the results! My vision is noticeably improved. The procedure went through without a hitch. The staff in the office as well as in Surgicare were exemplary. I am so pleased. Thank you all for your professional expertise.
