It is a delight to visit this office. Everyone is highly professional and attentive. I wish my other healthcare providers were even half this good.
I had an excellent experience. My doctor was friendly and knowledgeable. She listened and asked thoughtful questions. The exam was very clearly being conducted by a qualified and highly competent physician. I feel I can trust them implicitly and without reservation. I will be coming here for many years going forward.
I love going to the Whole Picture Health & Vision. Doctor Curran, Doctor Bloom, and Brenda are super nice. Especially Doctor Curran, after I talk to her, my heart becomes warm. And they are GOOD. I've been suffering from severe seasonal allergies throughout my whole life and I finally found something working for a long-term. Thank you so much for your great practice, I greatly appreciate it.
They knows how to take care of patients that even not their own. I was traveling to Ithaca for 3 days and forgot my daily's contacts at home. I called around and no one could help me. But Whole Picture Health & Vision are amazing!!! I provided copy of my script and within 2 hours I was pain free with 2 days worth of contacts. Thank you girls so much!!! Lastly, I wish I will be local because their glasses collection is amazing!!!
Great eye doctor.
I was seen right on time, their operation is smooth and efficient!
The doctor was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The building is also very charming.
Dr. Curran is amazing! I am not the biggest fan of getting my eyes checked out, but every time I go there, Dr. Curran takes care of it. I highly recommend!
***I do NOT recommend Whole Picture Health and Vision (WPH&V). After 10 months of: ineffective visits with more costs, 3 lens prescriptions that did not improve my eyesight, insistence to pay out-of-network fees, non-returned phone calls, etc., I was convinced that this practice fails to adhere to professional standards.
***My 1st visit was in September 2023 with Dr Curran. WPH&V told me they are in-network ($0 visit for me), but insisted I pay $60 (out-of-network) because the insurance company hadn't corrected WPH&V's status; WPH&V said my bills would be "adjusted" later. By December, the correction was not done, so I contacted my insurance agent to do so. This became MY billing problem. NOTE: New lenses, prescribed during this visit, did not improve my eyesight. And the frames, damaged from putting in new lenses, were not brought to my attention.
***An October 2023 visit with Dr Bloom was to redo the prescription. It was also suggested (by the receptionist?) that I sign up for "vision therapy" but there was no diagnosis/consultation/written report from Dr Bloom about this, leaving me confused. NOTE: This 2nd prescription brought no vision improvement.
***A December 2023 visit with Dr Bloom was to redo the prescription again. In March 2024 (after finding new frames), I met with the staff (a qualified optician?), who informed me (without explaining any diagnosis) that I needed expensive SHAW lens (did she use the design software for creating the SHAW lens?). I agreed, thinking my eyes must be very unusual, but the SHAW lens brought no improvement. NOTE: After trying 3 prescriptions, I still could not read product signs (just above me) in the Wegmans' isles, nor read the highway/street signs as I drove!!!
***A note of importance is that I was not told the pressure readings of my eyes nor why another check was needed in 6 months.
***When I called the office or stopped in to report that each prescription did not bring improvement, I did not get a timely response, or I got no response. Finally, in July 2024 (after unrelated surgery/rehab), I wrote a letter to Bloom/Curran asking to be referred to an ophthalmologist who could help me. Dr Bloom scheduled another appointment for me that month, when I was informed (for the first time) that I needed a capsulotomy procedure for my left eye and cataract surgery for my right eye. FYI: new prescriptions do not correct the cloudy lens of a cataract!!
***In September 2024, a wonderful ophthalmologist completed both procedures. In November, now with a new prescription, I could see bright and clear. The foggy, double vision is gone. And with a high pressure reading in one eye, I started prescription eye drops.
***I wrote a letter to Bloom/Curran expressing many disappointments with their practice. I do not agree with the response from "Whole Picture Health and Vision" (the doctors did not sign the letter) that "the doctors followed appropriate medical guidelines and rendered a high standard of care...". In my experience, I should have been referred to an ophthalmologist during my first visit, so NO, their care was not of high standard. I consider it highly unprofessional.
***Lastly, a call from their office reminded me that I owe $35 for the last visit with Bloom - before my account is sent to a collection agency! It took almost a year before I got an accurate diagnosis/referral; all the unnecessary visits and non-correcting lenses cost $$$ of non-reimbursable expenses. A referral at my first visit would have cost $0 and given me clear eyesight a year earlier!!
My retina has a post trauma and I was referred to Dr Bloom for eye therapy. It was very helpful and my medical condition improves. The most important is that I was treated as a human not just body parts. Dr Bloom is very caring person, she listens and answers questions attractively. She is professional with depth knowledge of her field. I would refer people I know to visit her. Further more the staff there is very nice too
