Clarity Eye Care - Collegetown

Clarity is the best option for convenient eye care located in Collegetown. I went in for a casual eye exam just to get a better sense of the visual hardware I was working with, and the team at Clarity made me feel welcome and took great care of me! I recommend Dawn, Betsy, and Dr. Kevan Smith.

I have visited more than three eye clinics in Ithaca, and I am confident that Dr. Smith is the best. He is patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. It is a great pleasure to be his patient. Cindy is also very kind and caring. Over my year-long experience with Clarity, I have encountered only one minor issue: they occasionally miss updating patients about contact lens orders. Once, I waited nearly two months for my lenses and discovered, after calling, that they had arrived over a month earlier. I am sure this was an oversight, and I am confident they will improve their process in the future.

Doc and staff are all very pleasant and got the nose pads on my glasses replaced very quickly. Made my day!

I walked in the other day for replacing a small screw on my glasses. The service was very warm and fast, I got my fixed glasses back within 3 minutes. However I was charged $10 for replacing that small screw with a nose pad. The price was a little higher than I expected, but I happily paid for it, because they solved the issue that had bothered me for several days and I bet the rent for running a business in collegetown is pretty high. -- Until I checked their reviews and found out that they would provide similar service for other customers for free. To be honest, now I don't feel good about my experience here at Classic Optical anymore. I don't understand why I was treated differently from other customers. Yes they greeted me nicely when I walked in, and I appreciate the fact they fixed my glasses right on-site. But the price discrimination made me feel horrible. I personally will never visit again.

Chuck is awesome. He knows what he's talking about. He knows what he's doing. He knows how to treat his customers. I lost my only pair of glasses on day 1 of our family vacation on Seneca Lake. I called all the local optical stores in Ithaca AND Syracuse. Classic Optical was the only one who was able to order and produce lenses for me in 24hrs. Lenscrafter and Costco both said it would take over 2 weeks! I plan on mailing him my spare glasses when I get home after this vacay and have him put in my updated prescription lenses. Yes..he is that good and reliable. Also - Ithaca is a great town!

Awesome service. It took a few times to tweak my lenses, but I figure it's because I'm a photographer and have super picky eyes. (I'm also a relatively new progressive lens and glasses wearer.) Chuck was absolutely accommodating, offered to have my eyes rechecked and ordered new lenses to replace the one's that I wasn't as happy with no charge. It's really great to have such exceptional friendly service that actually gives the customer the benefit of the doubt. Thank you!

Extremely friendly and helpful. I broke my glasses while on vacation here at the Finger Lakes and they had a brand new pair of glasses ready for me within 24 hours. I could not be happier with their kindness and willingness to help! I will be recommending this business to anyone needing any glasses repair.

The front desk worker and optician are some of the friendliest people I've ever met. I've gotten new glasses, and they tightened my glasses and swapped the lens free of charge. The service is always good and will 100% come here for any services.
