This place does not accept Medicaid when it says online they do! If you aren't going to accept it, remove it from your advertisement because driving all the way to the store to find out it was a complete waste of time sucks!

My 16 year old son and I had several bad experiences at the Cortland visionworks with extended wait times and rescheduled appointments, so we decided to give the Ithaca Visionworks a try. It was a terrible, demeaning, and toxic experience for both my son and me. We had a thirty minute drive only for the staff to tell us that they didn't have our appt on their computer and to rebook. I tried to show them the appointment confirmation and reminders on my phone, but they did not care. The staff were rude and degrading, it was so bad another customer jumped in to tell us we should find another eye doctor because this place was terrible. The staff at the front desk told my son to "stay in his place" when he agreed with the customer. I do not want to expose my son to this kind of rude behavior. I would rather pay out of pocket then be put through this kind of experience again. We will be finding another eye doctor.

Every time I go to Empire Visionworks I am always impressed. The staff are always friendly, competent and very helpful. Despite issues with their new AI system, they work hard at patient care. The telehealth doctor was also very good. It's hard navigating healthcare these days, but the staff at Empire Visionworks work at putting the person first.

Good frames, but had to wait despite having an appointment and was completely blindsided by the AI exam + remote doctor. Definitely feel like that should've been mentioned when I made the appointment in person. I very much did not appreciate having visionworks ads blasted on a loop as I waited for the remote doctor to login.

Booked an online appointment for an eye exam at 4:00 pm today. Was never told that my eye exam would be Telehealth. I thought I was actually going to see a doctor, next available doctor's appointment they don't have anything in Ithaca. Was told I could go to Courtland, but they don't have anything until the 14th. Stay away from Visionworks at all costs.

I am extremely disappointed with Visionworks in Ithaca.
Over the past two months, my mother's appointment has been canceled five times, always at the last minute with the same excuse: "the doctor is not available." Each time, I had already taken time off work to bring her. This is not an occasional issue. It is a repeated failure in scheduling and management.
If the doctor is not confirmed, patients should not be booked. Canceling appointments repeatedly shows a complete lack of respect for patients' time, especially for families coordinating care for others.

I am always happy with my experiences at this location. I give lots of time for my appointments as there is usually a wait and they tend to be short staffed. Overall, they are consistent and fix any issues that come up with my glasses along the way.
