Boy how times have changed! You can see if you view how the reviews have recently changed! If I could have given zero stars I would have! Both my son and I have been patients of this office for many years and had no problems with it nor Dr. Guzman. We always were seen in December of each year and make our following year appointment after we are seen. We have always received a full eye exam which included vision test and contact lens and eye glass prescriptions. I called the office in November about the possibility of changing our appointment times and was then informed that they are no longer providing contact lensn or glass prescriptions at our normal appointment as was stated related to "the office has gotten so busy that they have decided they will no longer be doing that for patients and If we wanted those we would have to come back for a separate appointment only on Fridays and would be charged $75 which would not be covered by insurance "(out of pocket). We made our appointments in December of 2024 and at no point throughoutvthe year did we receive any information via mailing/email nor text about this change in policy. I stated as that being said that I felt that we should be provided with such prescriptions during our normal visit without out of pocket expence for our December 2025 appointment as it is very late in the game to be trying to find another appointment with another provider in December of 2025 as we don't have enough daily contact lenses to last us past December. I was directed to speak with Doreen the office manager who after having two conversations with and was told that she would get back to me has since gosted me! Just bad business! Needless to say I am sure that I am not the only patient that has a problem with this change and lack of being informed of such change and poor business practices on Doreen's part. Needless to say I will not be returning!
For all the great reviews, mine isn't. It tells a very different story if the wonder and founder, Dr Sacha Modi.
I have had multiple eye operations w this man. The office is always overcrowded and plan I. Staying 90 minutes to 2 hours longer than scheduled for.
I had an in office procedure on my left eye to relieve some of the eye pressure associated with glaucoma. He didn't tell me he was putting 5 holes in my eyes and it hurt like hell.
During it my phone was ringing due to a family emergency and he yelled at me for it. But I could t move for like 5-6 minutes.
When the test was done I told Sasha Midi that I've applied for Disability Insurance and he was rude and curt informing me I wasn't eligible for it. He went on to further preen and boast that for a long time he was the man who decided for the state in cases of blindness.
Since that appointment in December I was actually granted full disability.
How did my own eye doctor not see how blind I was? Who's blind here?
He's unfit for practice and should release all of his glaucoma patients. Incredibly disappointed, offended and shocked by ignorance. You're a Doc from India and you don't seem to care about karma. Good luck with that.
Furthermore his poor son, who shares in the business is only in office one day a week, preferring their Yorktown location. So what do you think happens? He's flying around, spending seconds with patients, like he's hopped up on Red Bull or Coke. He cannot he at his best being so frazzled and having seconds for tons of waiting patients.
I've also met with Doctirs Walter and Guzman and they are lovely. Also Walter screwed up my mom's cataract surgery and she's never seen the same it better since.
Buyer beware.
After reading these reviews, I was nervous to make an appointment but told myself it was an emergency, and I needed care. Unfortunately, I woke up with a very bad stye and swollen eye, and my usual optometrist said they could not handle the issue and referred me here. I called and it took me three tries to speak with someone since I had to dial the extension for an immediate response and was initially told they didn't know if they could see me that day but then were able to get me an appointment within 45 minutes of my call. I arrived and filled out some paperwork and was taken into an exam room about a half an hour after my appointment time, did an eye test and answered some questions and then was referred to another waiting room. The office was very busy, but I did not feel my particular wait time was terrible. I saw Dr. Guzman about an hour after my appointment time, and he was thorough and efficient. Since I arrived a bit early for my appointment, I was in the office for just about an hour and a half. He did verify where to send my prescription and it ended up at the wrong pharmacy, but that was an easy fix on my end. Overall, I was relieved that they were able to see me same-day and see me quickly because my eye was in very bad shape. I would come here again if I ever have any sort of eye problem that my optometrist cannot handle.
Bad phone service. No one will answer the phone, Wether is to book a appointment or to speak to someone, no one picks up the phone. You leave your phone number and name and that's for nothing. You get a call back when ever they feel like it. Even if you call multiple times. It would be a waste of time. Thank you.
Make sure you block out your whole day. They will have you there for at least 3 hours past your appointment time. Unorganized. And unprofessional. Everyone is nice. They overbook themselves. I showed up early for my appointment for paperwork and wasn't called back until 45 minutes after I arrived, which was 30 minutes passed my scheduled appointment. And continued to say there until 1:30pm when my scheduled appointment was at 10:30am.
Reading through the comments, I'm aware that people have rated this place low. While I empathize with them and am aware of their individual situations and concerns, I've personally had a very pleasant experience here.
It's honestly been a twenty year journey for me to do Lasik Surgery to correct my astigmatism. I have been told that I am ineligible for this type of surgery because my astigmatism was so severe. However, after many years of waiting, I inquired to see if there was new technology that could help me.
There was an initial confusion as I had called Seeta Eye and was referred to an office in Cornwall because they thought I had another eye condition. When that was all cleared up, Stacey called me and we spoke over the phone and set up an appointment for me to come in and get a consultation. This was free.
I went in for the initial consultation where they used multiple cameras to review my eye and determine my eligibility for surgery. They then went over all the risks and rewards of the procedure. I was hit with total cost and billing information, and was given the opportunity to call my insurance afterwards and give them that updated information and they honored the contractual price with my insurance.
There was another follow up appointment with Dr. Modi prior to surgery (and payment had to be made at this point). The day of the procedure was smooth and quick. I will admit excruciating pain after the eye drops wore off for about four or five hours post procedure...something like someone holding my eyes open and sandblasting them.
But after having sleeping it off and waking up the following morning, I felt fine.
At this point, I went to the following appointments:
1. Initial Consultation
2. Pre-surgery consultation
3. Surgery
4. Day after follow up
5. Week after follow up
I still have the two week follow up to attend.
I had dry eye for about a week, the feeling of wearing old contacts, if you will. But overtime, with the recommended fish oil, vitamin C and eye drops, the dry eye has greatly diminished. I am very aware that total healing is many months away.
I was warned that due to my age, there is a strong possibility that I WILL need readers at some point. My vision, however, has been corrected from 20/400 to 20/15 for distance and 20/20 for closer reading. I do admit that I struggle with some close up things, but more light, eye drops, and looking at things from about 14 inches clears things up dramatically. Compared to what I had before, I'll take it!
Yes, I recognize there are many options out there. Seeta Eye gives you a year afterwards for free correction, and a nominal charge after that. My neighbor went to the place in White Plains and was guaranteed lifetime touch ups if needed.
Overall, I am very pleased with Dr. Modi and Stacey and the rest of the staff.
Very disrespectful of the people waiting in the waiting room. They overbooked to maximize profit over service. A shameful business plan. Regardless of the skill set of the Dr's, it is wrong to make people wait for unreasonable amounts of time.
I struggled on the amount of stars I gave today. At first I was annoyed that my husband's eye prep was done within 15 mins of arrival and then sat for an hour and a half to see the Dr for 5 mins!
I hope this Administration appreciates it's Support Staff! During my wait, several patients expressed their dissatisfaction with the Wait Time. Each time, their frustration was met with respect, kindness, and the willingness to help.
