Unfortunately Dr. Kramer is no longer there, I have never had such a bad time in my life with an eye drop prescription. The person in charge of that, Barbara, never followed up with me, 5 months of trying to get the drops with my health insurance, which were denied on more than 4 occasions because the doctor never sent confirmation of why I needed those drops for a long time. I made another appointment 3 month later to see Dr. Hollins AGAIN to tell me that I was super stressed and we were back to the same thing, same story again, I couldn't get the Restasis drops or any other because of the same lack of follow up and authorization sending. The employees are boring, from the older blonde lady at the front desk to the waiting time, which is exhausting. New patients, DO NOT waste your time going there. Even Dr Matta seems busy all the time but the blame and carelessness comes from the employees there.
Dr. Kramer was my eye doctor for 27 years. He was the best. I last so him in early may and told me to come back in four weeks.
I went and a young woman came in. I asked her for Dr.kramer.
She told me he retired and had wanted to "quiet quit" no notifications were sent out to any patients. I have serious vision problems and now have to scramble to find a new doctor.
A big disappointment that he acted so unprofessional
Yes, he's often overbooked and the wait times can be long, but he is worth it. He has excellent bedside manners, is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. His exams are thorough and he takes the time to listen. Emergencies are accommodated quickly. And his staff doesn't suffer fools, which I like. If you act like an idiot, they will treat you in kind. Been a patient for over 25 years and will be until he retires.
This one star doesn't reflect the doctor or his service, I called 10 minutes ago at 7:50 in the morning on 12/18/23, because my grandma was having some signs of problems behind the eye like flashes of light which can be emergent, and if they were able to take an emergency walk in I would bring here to Dr Kramer as she's been seeing him for many years, because the emergency room can only do so much for problems behind the eye anyway. And I understand it's an answering service and I'm sure she is bombarded with calls, but she was so rude, didn't allow me to speak for a second just because if the call back was going to be a while I would just take her to the emergency room. She didn't even have the courtesy to let me quickly ask if this was going to be a while or when the doctor even comes in. She told me I'm bombarded with calls and hung up on me. I work for an Optometrist office, and we, regardless of how busy we are, speak to everyone nicely and respectfully and do not hang up on someone with a possible emergency. I never write reviews but if you're part of a medical staff, whatever role you play, it's important to help whose calling and even if you can't help them at your office possible direct them to help. I'm astonished and disgusted.
Dr. Kramer is an excellent doctor. Exams are thorough. I rated this only as a 3 because his staff are rude, and nasty. Even when they are wrong ( example - making an appointment and when you go..you are not in the computer) and they are still right!!! They are not professional at all. They scheduleing needs to be improved. 2 hours to see the doctor. Something isn't right!!!
I was a new patient at this practice. I was pleased to know when I made my appt. That they accepted my insurance Fidelis care. Upon making my appointment I was advised to bring my insurance card and ID. At no point was I ever advised that I would be responsible for a $45 fee. Dr. Kramer is professional and kind. His staff was very unprofessional on how they chose to handle my so called out of pocket fee for the visit. They're excuse on why I wasn't given this information upon making my appointment was they don't have time due to high patient volume . I guess they didn't have time when they confirmed my appointment as well.I call BULLS**T and will be calling my insurance to advise them of this so called fee.
Rude staff who do not communicate with the doctor. Wait time is two hours or more when other Ophthalmologist's can have you in and out of their office in under an hour for a basic eye exam. Went to see Dr. Kramer twice since first script was inaccurate and ended up receiving the same script I initially had when I voiced that I could not see from them. Was told that it's not the doctors fault that I should see the guy that filled the prescription I was issued by Dr. Kramer. Doctor was rude and uninterested in finding a common ground to satisfy my complaint.
This doctor is not for me. He prescribed me medication that is sold by only four pharmacies in the United States. I had to wait three weeks for this medication. It was sent from a Blink RX through a pharmacy in North Dakota...Thrifty White Pharmacy. So this was supposed to be two day delivery by UPS. From North Dakota it went to Kentucky then back to North Dakota "due to a sorting problem" as per UPS. Then it went to Wisconsin. I finally received this medication in a grey plastic baggie / envelope. The inside box was violently mangled. There was no safety seal either and visibly used. NEVER AGAIN.
