Dr. Umfrey and all the staff at Ophthalmic Consultants are awesome. Kind and caring! I was nervous about my cataract surgery, yet the staff took care of me and Dr. Umfrey reassured me as I waited in the pre-op area. I would recommend Dr. Umfrey and Ophthalmic Consultants. Thank you to Dr. Umfrey (she is the best!!!), Dr. Harrow (post op Dr for 1 day follow-up), LaQuinta, Jordan, John, Carrie, others who are also amazing! All are "rockstars!"

Just left there office after being examined by there nurse and since it was recommended to me for a workman comp case they declined me to see the doctor simply because I don't have insurance. This a workman comp case and they are work on those cases it's time for the state to take a second look of those entities to scrutinize their practices morally and professionally.

I have been going here for years and they got a new dr I believe it was last year and he said well did you ever think maybe you don't need glasses?! Uhhhh hello I have been wearing glasses since I was 18 and without my glasses I see a very blurry world!!! Seriously thinking about finding a new place

The doctor didn't take my concern regarding the blind spots in my vision seriously. Said "I've never heard of that before" and didn't care. He had no interest in listening to what I said and just gave me coupons for allergy eye drops. Berated me for not bringing my existing glasses into the appointment. Treat your patients better, legitimately one of the worst doctor visits I've ever had.

The first pair of glasses they gave to me didn't work at all. They let me reschedule an appointment, which was a month later, and did another examination, which took two and half hours. They said the prescription was correct but my eye didn't like it. They eventually went back to my original prescription and redid my glasses, which took another two weeks. When I picked up the "new" glasses, the lady,Morgan, seemed not in a good mood and spoke in a blunt manner that made me feel the whole thing was my mistake and terrified me a lot. The good side is that I eventually got a pair of glasses working fine, but the down side is that it took me over two months to get it and the stuff there didn't treat me in a respectful manner.

I went to Dr. Deere's office for a routine eye exam--my first visit--and ended up in a frustrating sales funnel. Right after the exam, I was sent straight into the adjacent Riverfront optical shop. I was told this was required to receive my perscription. There was heavy pressure to buy frames immediately. At Riverfront, I was upsold and it was not clear at all--I was told my insurance was apparently down in their system--so the glasses ended up being wildly overpriced. The whole process felt rushed and transactional. I was taken advantage of because my eyes were dilated and I'm dependent on a walker. When I hesitated, they dangled vague discounts that didn't make the final price any less ridiculous. The next day, I tried to cancel everything and get a refund, but the same staff member who pressured me kept saying "unfortunately" over and over, insisting it was too late--even though the glasses hadn't been made yet. I even looked into it afterward, and under New York state law, if no refund policy is clearly posted in-store or listed on their website, they're required to offer a full refund. I didn't see anything posted at the time, which just makes the whole "unfortunately" excuse feel even more dismissive. I previously purchased similar glasses online for a fraction of the cost--about $400 cheaper. They also never ended up giving me my prescription. Zero stars would be more accurate but not an option.

They supposedly open at 7am but doors weren't unlocked until 7:20! 3 employees show up at 7:25 and Doctor comes rolling in parking lot at 7:45 Wife leaves at 8:30 as 1st patient... 1 doctor and 12 patients waiting. What a well run business! Find another place!

The absolute worst office out of the entire practice. You will never be seen when your appointment actually is. Plan on waiting for 2 plus hours every time you come in the door. It is only this office that has this issue. EVERY other office in the practice is run efficiently.
