Perlmutter Eye Center - Customized Cataract Surgery, Glaucoma, Retina Specialist Care

I have recently consulted with Dr. Lawrence Perlmutter and was treated by Dr. Zonderman and both were extremely helpful. Dr. Zonderman provided me with excellent care and guidance for a retina issue. I also have my annual exam performed by Dr. Ebbing and he too has provided excellent care and guidance. I highly recommend all three of these individuals and have the highest regard for Perlmutter Eye Center.

Dr. Ebbing and his staff are great! He takes his time and listens, which is very appreciated. I was able to get right in for an eye issue I was having, then scheduled an annual for a few weeks later. Glad to have a great eye doctor now and the location is convenient right off of Hoosick St. Highly recommend.

Dr. Ebbing was extremely patient and thorough with my eye exam again this year. The first year I saw him he diagnosed an astigmatism that went uncorrected likely for years. He also helped me understand some peripheral vision issues i was having. What a difference in my vision with proper glasses! He takes his time to explain everything and you never feel rushed through an appointment like so many doctors seem to do nowadays. Some info I obtained this time which I felt kind of silly about: numerous fine scratches on your lenses can really affect your night vision. I was starting to get really nervous about night driving. Will re-post when I get the new glasses! Very nice guy with great personality and a really handsome Golden Retriever too!

Dr. Ebbing is the first optometrist to listen to me and evaluate and understand my condition. I have been suffering from eye pain for 15+ years. I had almost given up hope but decided to give another eye doctor one more try. Thank goodness I did! After his recommendations and treatment my eye pain has finally subsided. It's been life altering being able to see and not be in pain. I am eternally grateful that I found him. I would recommend Dr. Ebbing to anyone who wants someone to care and listen and actually help. I only wish I found him sooner!

Dr Ebbing is totally cool and really seems to know his science. At our first meeting he sat me down in front of the computer and explained what needed to happen ( I had to have a cataract removed). No other optometrist has ever given me that much attention and validated me with my ability to understand the medical issues at hand. Out of his field, but from concern for me, he strongly advised me to have a Basel cell removed from my face, which I had been putting off for three years ( I'm vain and didn't want my chin cut). He warned me of the dire implications implicit in delaying so I had the procedure done five days after my cataract operation. I am now cancer free. The only change I would suggest to Dr. Ebbing would be to get his ear pierced - it would go well with his man bun.

Dr. Ebbing was super friendly and personable. Very easy to talk to and knowledgeable on all things related to eyeballs. You can tell he loves what he does! Appointment was on time and office staff were very welcoming.

Dr. Ebbing and his staff are first-class specialists in dry-eye care. Always take extra time and effort to explain my care options, my conditions. Very friendly, flexible and convenient option in Troy.

My family of 4 (Husband and two sons, and myself) had appointments scheduled for 11/13 and my 2 sons on 11/20. They were aware of our insurance 3 of us have Blue Vision and my Autisticson Medicaid.. They called few days before appointment saying that Dr. Erik Ebbing wouldn't be there that day of my husband and my appt. So they rescheduled our appt. Just to say new date wouldn't work. They changed it to 11/27/23 for all 4 of us. Now its the 13th just got a call from them stating Dr. Ebbing cannot do our appts. He doesn't take the insurance (Medicaid) in Troy Ny. Well thats false advertise.ent then because under Dr. Ebbing it states he takes it. We were told that we have to go to Clifton park location, I told her of all the problems we are having trying to even have the appt. She however said, well we can get you in in the middle of January! SERIOUSLY!!! I said don't bother. I do NOT recommend this facility or Doctor!!!!
