Sterling Optical - Cross County Shopping Center

My family and I have shopped at this store for ten years. We have been happy with the selection of glasses and their customer service over that time. We recently purchased glasses and met 2 of the most engaging and conscientious sales people we ever met. They are Alan and Wendy, the manager. They were helpful in assisting us in choosing the best aesthetically pleasing frames and took our order in a caring and professional manner. When we picked up the completed glasses, they made sure that they fit correctly and adjusted them multiple times when needed. They are not only professional and competent but also caring.

I went to this location last week and had a terrible experience to say the very least. I went in for just an eye exam and they told me in order to use my insurance I had to purchase my lens's through them which I later found out is completely false. Once I found out I was lied to I called back first thing in the morning and they refused to refund me. I have now spoken to the store owner who also refuses to refund my credit card for an item I never wanted in the first place. Stay far away as this is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever received.

Worst place ever. I won't come here ever again. Ordered my glasses on August 06th. Got a voice mail on August 14 my glasses were ready and they needed one hour to get them done. Saying I could come any time Monday through Saturday. Came on Monday 18th. They told me the person won't come on mondays. After that I came today Tuesday 26th to be told they need 2 hours. A really rude dude who looked upset because I complaint yelled at me. I'm probably contacting my bank and ask for a refund. My time cost money.

My wife and I recently visited Sterling Optical at the Cross County Center in Yonkers, and we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service we received. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive. A special shout-out goes to Patti, who assisted us throughout our visit. Her professionalism, patience, and genuine care made the entire process seamless. She took the time to understand our needs, guided us through various eyewear options, and ensured we were comfortable with our choices. Patti's attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly set her apart.

On May 30 I went in to pick up my daughter glasses. In the process of doing so I ask Wendy if I can get a copy of prescription, upon doing so Patty came out and greeted us and asked how is everything working out for the glasses? I let her know that I was here to pick up my daughters but also just to get my prescription because I found it cheaper to get my glasses somewhere else she was so kind and sweet and said what can we do for you or can I see if we can get you a better price for your glasses so I said to her, no problem she was able to give me the breakdown with insurance without insurance and also even if I bring in my own frames and I was happy with the outcome. Pat and Wendy was excellent On May 14, 2025 Burdette was very helpful and kind to helping my daughter getting a new pair of glasses. She also reminded me that we were passed due for an eye exam.Overall she gave excellent customer service.

I'm so impressed with the staff at Sterling's. I've been using them for more than five years. The doctor is very good. Technician is very competent. The front staff is very knowledgeable and skillful at their job, especially Burdette she makes the process seamless .

Patti was a kind and patient eye care specialist. Despite being bombarded with constant calls and no other staff to help, she managed 5 individual appointments that were not in the books! She never lost her cool. She gave each of us the time and attention we deserved. Patti was so apologetic and tried her best to thank us all for our patience. If it were not for Patti's kindness to me, Sterling opticals would have lost my business. I have been a client since my first pair of glasses at age 7, way back in the mid 80's. Patti is a wonderful employee who deserves special recognition. Thank you Patti!

This was my first time at Sterling Optical and my experience was 10/10. The staff there is really great. Patti is very kind and knows her job extremely well. She really made the whole experience effortless. She was honest & I thank her for that. Patti ended up suggesting the frames I purchased, and I appreciate the time she took to help me decide. Most people tell you what you want to hear, don't take you serious, but both Patti and Kayla were kind AND honest. I did not work fully with Kayla, but she helped out when she wasn't busy. And while waiting in the store, I saw how hard she was working and that also does not go unnoticed. The two of them are a great team and as individuals. They deserve all the respect and kindness given to them that they give out to other people. And thank you, Dr. Rokanas for being so efficient. I haven't been to the eye doctor in some time and I felt I was in good hands.
