My regular doctor is in Athens, Ga, and I had an issue with my eye, yesterday. I went there for advice and to see if my situation was serious and something to be concerned about. Even though I wasn't their reg. patient, they got me in the system and I was seen that day. Dr. Gossett showed me the photos of my eye with explanation and a solution. Customer Service was excellent! I am now a patient with this team.

My wife and I have been seeing Doctor Gossett for about six years, primarily for routine eye exams and eyeglasses. We have always found him to be personable and efficient. His exams are thorough and he always explains what he is doing and the results in easy to understand terms. We have never had a problem getting a timely appointment. The clinic staff are exceptionally friendly and courteous. Our prescriptions have changed frequently and we were able to purchase quality eyeglasses and a fair price. We will continue to use Doctor Gossett's services.

Dr. Gossett was very professional and easy going! He had a bright attitude at my exam and was very thorough! He listened to any issues i had been having and knew exactly what to do to fix it! The office is super clean and very professional! The girls that work there are all very cheery! Great place to go! Overall, I had a great experience and will be returning!

The first impression as I walked in the door was "Wow, The office is so clean and well-maintained". One would expect a professional building to be clean but this office is spectacular! They have a really nice waiting area, very peaceful and relaxing. I was immediately greeted as I walked in the door. I noticed what appeared to be fresh flowers throughout the office. I am overly impressed with the professionalism of Dr. Gossett. Dr. Gossett certainly knows his practice. Never once did I feel uncomfortable and I was certainly enthused with my eye exam. I can't thank him enough to not only help me see better than I have in many years, but want him to know how much I appreciate him taking time to explain to me the reasons behind his recommendations - how I can better take care of my vision. Dr. Ward was very nice and put together! she was very thorough in my exam and was very professional! She explained everything as we went along and was very personable the whole exam! I loved hearing about her dogs and her holidays! I also loved that she asked me about my family and life events! The whole office was super relaxing and the decor was very clean and put together! I will be returning to this office again!

We like to patronize fellow merchants in the Franklin, NC area. This was our first experience with Gossett & Ward. They were pleasant and professional, and expensive. An additional amount was requested several days after our appointment (insurance miscalculation) which brought the amount to approx. $1000 for a pair of glasses and 2 exams. (each $180) When the new glasses came in I observed that they were defective. (They reordered and refunded the extra amount they had called me about) The prescription G & W wrote for my wife was wrong resulting in 6 hours of driving and an unusable pair of glasses. (which a chain eye care store absorbed, luckily) In our case, the purported advantages of patronizing a local optometrist- personal service, quality control, and accuracy of prescription, negated any advantage over a 'chain'. Dr Gossett is awesome!! He takes his time during your eye exam and makes sure he answers any questions that you might have and explains everything clearly and concisely. Afterwards, the rest of his staff are professional, courtesy and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend Dr Gossett for your eyecare needs!!

I received a standard eye exam from Dr. Gossett. During the exam I expressed the choice to buy glasses online, to save money. Dr. Gossett said I could do that, but warned me the prescription would likely be wrong. He then would not provide me with the PD (pupillary distance) measurement I needed to order online (I had researched it beforehand). After the exam he ushered me into his optical shop. A brief look around showed me the cheapest pair was around $300, more than I could afford. I asked the assistant to measure my PD, but she would not do it either, even though she had the device (as do all optical shops). Then a bill arrived for this standard exam: $180. I was floored. Being new to NC, I surveyed several optometry centers in nearby cities, to find out if this was typical. I found charges ranging from $75-$95 (the highest being in Asheville). Insurance does NOT cover adult eye exams unless you are diagnosed with a medical condition (such as diabetes). Next time I will go to the Waynesville Walmart for the exam, and for glasses. A friend of mine told me they will even put new lenses in your existing frames, because they are a corporate store (by comparison, the Silva Walmart will not, because they are not a corporate store. Check beforehand, however. Hope this is helpful.
