had a wonderful experience with Kayla at America's Best in Gastonia, North Carolina. She was incredibly efficient while still taking her time to make sure everything was done right. Kayla was courteous, kind, and very knowledgeable -- she answered all of my questions with confidence and made sure I fully understood my options.
What really stood out to me was how patient she was. I never felt rushed, and she made the entire process smooth and comfortable. Excellent customer service like that is hard to find! I truly appreciate her professionalism and care.
I will definitely be returning and highly recommend asking for Kayla if you visit this location.
I had the absolute BEST experience today! The selection of glasses was incredible -- so many amazing options to choose from. They truly worked to get me the best deal possible, which I appreciated so much.
And I have to give a special shoutout to Kayla -- she was the sweetest tech ever. Her energy was unmatched, and she made the whole experience so fun and effortless. I absolutely adored her and will forever go to her when picking out glasses.
I genuinely could not be more thrilled with the service I received. 10/10 -- highly, highly recommend
I had an appointment on 12/28/25, and it was so quick and easy. I did my paperwork online beforehand, so they got me back very quick after check in. Dr. Tran took care of me and was very thorough and professional. She's been my favorite optometrist I've seen. Then I went to pick out my glasses and at checkout, Keyda was PHENOMENAL. She quite literally told me things I've never even heard of before and I've worn glasses for over ten years now. She helped me go over all my measurements and why they're important for my vision, and I feel the most confident I have ever felt about getting new glasses. She also helped to give me other tips that are helpful for glasses and makeup wearers. Such a kind and helpful human being! Thank you so much!!

Consider me a now FORMER customer! Arrived at 12:23pm for my 1pm appointment. Immediately checked in by the nice young man at the front desk. Exam completed in 15 minutes. Now, the horrible experience begins...
Sat waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes as two (2) employees cycled at a snails pace through waiting (post-exam) customers. Mind you, we're seated with our backs to/in windows with no shade and sun blazing through on a record-breaking 80 degree winter day here.
Ultimately, I exited to my car at 2:30p, but my spirit wouldn't allow me to leave without something to show for my time and INSURANCE benefit. I walked back into the office, and was IMMEDIATELY called up to complete my service. Go figure!
Employee acknowledged I'd been waiting 1.5 hours (I corrected her with the true 2 hour wait time). She even stated that she'd gone to lunch, returned and I was still waiting.
I normally purchase two (2) designer frames with progressives+++. Today, I left with my paper prescription (they refused to include my PD measurements due to non-purchase with Americas Best). As if I'd spend a buffalo nickel for abhorrent customer service. There are far too many (good, better, best) options available for a pleasant customer experience.
Today, 12/27/25, this relationship is NO MORE!
Wonderful service. Took no time at all. Very satisfied with the glasses for my husband. Keyda was so personal and did a great job explaining everything.
I had an awful experience at the Gastonia location. I had an eye exam October 21st. I hadn't had my eyes check since 2023 because I just couldn't afford it.
Apparently my vision had gotten much worse since my last exam and the virtual optometrist was concerned. Now one eye is different than the other. He wrote my RX, but they didnt have my strength of contacts in my brand at the location so they had to order them for a trial.
The optometrist was nice, and so was the assistant (im guessing that's she was an assistant) but he wrote the RX for the incorrect brand. I was also told they would call when my trial arrived.
During checkout when I tried asking questions, because the optometrist wanted me to come back and have an in person exam, the woman checking me out was extremely rude and seemed bothered by my existence. She gave me no answers and only seemed interested in selling me products.
I never received a call that my trial contacts arrived, and when I tried to call them, there was no answer. I drove 45 mins back to find out if my contacts had arrived and ask if I could just have an RX in my correct brand written. I spoke to the manager, who ALSO had a pompous attitude toward me. He was of no help either. He was rude, and when I once again asked if I could JUST HAVE MY CORRECT RX brand he said he had NO optometrist, but he could order them through THEIR system.
WHY would I spend more money with a location that has wasted my time and been so rude to me?! If he could order them he can give me my RX. He told me he would call me yesterday but surprise! He did not call and give me an update. So its been since the 21st of October and I still can not order my contacts unless I agree to order through them!
I JUST WANT MY RX! I paid for my EXAM!
I had an appointment today October 8th at 9:50 am. I've got to say, I've been coming here for years but today all I can say is everyone there was extremely nice and very professional. From the moment I signed in to the incredible staff you all were top notch. If I could give more than five stars for my appointment today I would. Keep up the good work!!
Truly had a wonderful experience with this group. From the check-in desk, to getting my pre-exam done, doctor time, and check-out... everyone was extremely nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was my first time going to Dr. Tran and I just adore her. She listened to me and took her time to explain things. Her attitude overall was so friendly and welcoming. Liz at check-out was wonderful -she was thorough in explaining my lens options and the costs/benefits to each. I don't usually rave about this type of thing but the experience was really positive. :)
