I called to make a new patient appt. Told them I had united Healthcare thru my husband's job.. obviously the lady that picked the phone up didn't listen and thought i said medicade... so she put me on "hold" but i could hear the entire convo. They didn't want to help & asked someone if they could schedule me and someone in the background said earliest would be after March... someone else came back to the phone and said "so you have unitedhealthcare...well Medicade, and want to schedule?" Her tone was nasty and I could tell by her question it was because she thought I had medicade. I immediately said no, i have UHC thru my husband job and her time quickly changed from nasty to helpful. Because of that i immediately said don't worry about it, I'm good and hung up.
Even if I did have medicade yalls customer service should be better than that. Myself, my husband and son are in need of a new eye Dr so yall just lost 3 new patients. Instead of asking me to repeat my insurance info you assumed it was medicade & immediately treated me like I was not good enough for this office. Stop assuming and just start being good humans and don't treat people like that, even if they do have medicade. You're getting paid either way right???? BTW. .we have quantum health UMR UnitedHealthcare insurance blessed be. Hopefully yall don't treat anyone else like this going forward.
I had a very disappointing experience at this office on 01/13/26 around 3:00 PM.
I brought my sister to her scheduled appointment and was told at check-in that she could not be seen due to her age and because I am not her legal guardian, supposedly because of a "change in company." This was never communicated prior to the appointment. I had no issue bringing her to appointments in the past, and my information was already on file as her brother. Turning us away at the desk was dismissive and a major inconvenience that could have been avoided with proper communication. Although a letter was sent about the company transition, no updated policies were provided.
What made this experience worse was the lack of professionalism at the front desk. The staff member ( a heavy-set brunette caucasian woman) checking us in was wearing a "FREEDOM" shirt, a political brand associated with rhetoric that many people find hateful and divisive. Healthcare spaces should be neutral and inclusive so patients and families feel safe.
To put this into perspective, the individual associated with this brand has made statements such as:
"It's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment,"
and
"If I see a Black pilot, I'm going to be like, 'Boy, I hope he's qualified.'"
Seeing political messaging tied to statements like this in a healthcare setting made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I work in healthcare myself, and my employer would not allow staff to wear political or ideologically charged apparel because of the impact it can have on patient trust.
Between the poor communication, wasted time, and unprofessional environment, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
First time here and I would not go back. Our appointment with the pediatric eye doctor was at 2:00PM. We arrived early and at 2:20 we were still not even close to going back. Poor communication and when asked, we were told they lost track of time. Bad first impression.
I am not able to respond to the owner- I stated in my post above that this was with a pediatric eye doctor- so it would not be under my name but my child's name- You can look that up by the last name :)
me and my husband went there and after everything, one thing my husband said was its a good experience. the staff is nice and approachable. They are welcoming and they don't have that mean or straight face. The waiting is not super long but if its long, i think its worth it. The doctor is soo nice and have a calm face =D.. He also didn't rush us even though there's a lot of customers. He makes me feel that my eye can be fixed even if my previous two eye doctors said its not fixable. The staff that guide us for our glasses is also nice. She gave us lot of choices and will tell if the glass looks good on us. They're just all nice..
Do not recommend, they do not fix their mistakes and try to charge way more than was anticipated. Never use them again! Now my husband is stuck with 2 pair of glasses insurance help pay that he can't wear! Waste of time and out of $160! Bad business practices with no intent to help fix their mistake.
This office always seemed a little cold to me, not very welcoming (not for any apparent reason) but I came in. A few days ago to have my glasses adjusted and Hannah helped me. Hannah spent time helping me and adjusted them absolutely perfect. I have had these for almost a year and they just did not seem to fit correctly, but she made it happen. Hannah thank you so much for the exceptional service you have provided. Thank you so much.
Dr. Mincey is great and all the staff are so nice and helpful. I was a first time contact wearer and they were so patient with me and helped guide me through every step. Highly recommend their office for all your eye care needs!
They changed my prescription and couldn't see out of the glasses. They remeasured and adjusted the prescription, still couldn't see. I said I wanted readers and they said to take them home and try them out for a couple weeks before we give up. When I came back, they are now saying I have to pay for the lenses. Bad business practice. I would recommend going to a different practice.
