My daughter and I moved to a different part of the county. I have always gone to a private optometrist office so I will say we aren't used to franchise eye doctors. This place sucked. They weren't clear on their pricing since I sent my daughter alone for the initial visit. She wants colored contacts for Christmas so I wanted her to get fitted. It will take 3 weeks for a sample to determine the best contacts for her. I called another office and they will have them for her in 3 days. I just think the office didn't submit the request. I didn't like my experience with this office.
I've been wearing eyeglasses my entire life. While my eye exam and fitting went fine, picking up my new glasses wasn't a pleasant experience at all. I was asked from a female staff member to sit and wait and as the minutes passed, her colleague abruptly asked me if I needed help as if I bumped into him in a grocery store. After I told him I'm waiting to pick up my new glasses, he told me to move to another chair to his left. Eventually, another colleague of his fetched my new glasses and I was out of there. This place lacks professionalism. The woman who waited on me didn't even sit down. I felt rushed all the while her male colleague continued to chat up his customer as if they were on a date. America's Best at this location is best at nothing when it comes to customer service.
Had a great experience! I got there a little early for my appointment and they got me in right away. They were friendly, efficient, and had lots of great options for me to choose glasses! They also explained things very well, each step of the process.
The appointment/exam was in the office but the doctor was remote - very futuristic. The process was smooth and timely once it began. The turnaround time was fast and the staff was very polite and efficient during the entire process. I got two pair of glasses at the sale price.
Not a pleasant experience. Dr was older gentleman, nice, professional, but used faulty and foggy equipment. Not clean! Some weird dude named Kevin is very sassy and has a feminine attitude but nasty like.. as if he's automatically offended for no reason without being provoked. Like a teenager on her cycle. Literally talks in run on sentences until he runs out of breath. Insulted my intelligence, loudly and rudely spoke about how awful my state employee insurance was, "adjusted" my frames making them noticeably crooked, and purposely entered my prescription in the system wrong. Thankfully they upload the Dr's handwritten report. Literally got up and walked around my back trying to see if I was recording him on my phone, pretended to fix frames on the wall and walked back around to sit. Just a negative spirited person. Two other employees sitting like robots as if they don't notice his demeanor or perhaps afraid to face it. I took my Meta RBs to another location to purchase lenses. I don't trust these weirdos.
Rude check-in person. Told her their location is very unfriendly to handicapped (no handicapped parking anywhere close and a full, tall curb without wheelchair slope) . I told reception as soon as I walked in and she couldn't have cared less.
Go anywhere else (esp if you have to roll or assist someone coming to get an eye exam or glasses!!!) Also, the place smells and looks dirty and like no one cleans the carpet.
I waited 20 minutes in an empty waiting room to get the initial eye exam before seeing the optometrist. This was also 20 minutes past my appointment time.
I ended up having to select my own glasses to try on and find a place to sit down with a mirror to see what frames I liked and had to borrow wet wipes ( from the lovely receptionist) to clean almost 20 pairs of very smudged and dirty frames that were on the wall. Multiple frames actually had cracked glass or plastic lenses which should never have been able to be tried on for possibility of eye injury to customers! I cleaned all of the lenses and then gave them to the person who came to finally help me and told her they should probably be sterilized before being put back on the wall. Other eyeglass places I have been to usually have a dirty bucket to be sanitized after people try them on but I did not see one anywhere in this store. No excuse, especially with sanitation issues currently even though at least 5 people are standing around waiting to sell glasses to people.
**Update- complained to the district manager and the owner of the franchise at Pleasant Valley contacted me immediately and apologized and offered a refund on the glasses I had purchased. When I went to pick them up everyone was (not surprisingly), very attentive and nice and friendly and then helpful.
The inaccessibility is still a concern but it is actually the issue of the shopping center management to deal with and hopefully somebody will. I appreciate their efforts to rectify my initial bad experience. **
Partner paid for a contact exam. They just did a glasses exam and assigned him random contacts. Didn't give him samples or a follow-up to check the fit. When he called about it, they didn't try to rectify the situation at all.
Completely unprofessional, incapable, and a scam.
I ordered 8 boxes of contacts from America's "best". I just received 6 boxes and whatever that mess is in that bag.
I have so many questions. What is wrong with you???? How did this even happen?
No store will accept a contact lenses return like this because there could be issues like tampering. And yet, you expect me, the customer, to accept that? I want my 2 brand new boxes instead of this mess.
Who, in your entire company, is actually able to help me? And I ask this because I've had so many issues with americas "best" that I've never had with ANY other contacts store.
I'm literally speachless. Just so you know, you have lost me as a customer forever.
The salesperson who helped me buy the contacts seemed good though. The review does not apply to them.
