BJ's Optical

BJ's has been a great fit all the way around for my glasses and accessories. My prescription recently changed and I needed an affordable, quality pair of glasses that worked well with my face shape and were custom fitted to my line of site. Had heard mixed reviews from friends about getting glasses from one of the big 'box stores'. BJ's, however, stood out in the feedback I received as at least 'satisfied to very satisfied' so I decided to give them a try. The optician at BJ's that helped me did a great job walking me through picking out my glasses. He was knowledgeable, professional, and suggested I video chat with my wife to help me pick out the right frames (found out later from my wife that this was very good advice by the way!). Paid a reasonable price (not cheap but not overpriced either) and now have my new glasses! They are comfortable, my wife says they look fashionable on me, and I can see great at all distances. I had to get progressive lenses this go around which my optometrist said can be especially hard to get just right at every distance. My progressive lenses from BJ's allow me to focus at every distance 'progressively' - I can read, work at the computer, and see clearly while driving - all now with a single pair of glasses! I was hesitant about ending up with 'bifocal type glasses' since I now needed help with seeing up close but my progressive lenses look just like regular glasses so I was very pleased. I plan to take a couple of my kids to BJ's later this year to get their glasses if their prescription changes when they have their annual check-up.

Brad Williams is a fantastic optician. He is careful and thorough and works to make certain you have what you need for the best experience with your new glasses. He helps you think through the options and style to give you the best glasses for your needs.

My go-to-place for eyeglasses, bar none. I went here after a poor experience at a local optometry place. Even though I'm a BJ's member, it's not required if you're going there for eyeglasses or an eye exam. My optometrist, David, is a great guy. He explained things to me in very clear language and a friendly manner, and helped me select the right lenses and frames that were way less expensive than what I would have paid anywhere else.

I had a frustrating experience with BJ's Optical at the Brier Creek location. I dropped off my frames on 2/23 and was told they would be ready in about 10 days. After multiple follow-ups, I kept getting the same "at finishing" update with no clear timeline. Eventually, my original frames were never returned and had to be replaced. I did receive a refund and a new pair of frames, so the issue was ultimately resolved, but the process to get there involved poor communication and lack of follow-through. I also escalated the issue to regional management and did not receive a response. I appreciate the final resolution, but the overall experience should have been handled much more professionally.
