What a great place to go for eye care. My daughter and I have always felt so comfortable and like we are the most important patients when we go. I've been a patient of Dr. Hudgins' for over 10 years now. I recommend him to everyone needing a reliable, talented eye doctor. I just got new glasses with the tinted transitions lenses with the new colored mirror coatings (along with all the other bells and whistles coatings) and they are seriously epic. I have VSP vision insurance and that actually covered most of it. Either way they are worth the extra coin. Anyway apparently this stuff is so new and because of the pandemic, I'm the first patient to actually get these types of glasses lenses from their office, so they asked me to write an honest review about them. I have blue eyes so glare while driving usually hurts like hell, blue lights from screens usually hurt like hell, etc. No more glare eye pain of any kind with these fancy new lenses though. Absolutely 110% recommend taking the plunge especially if you have light colored eyes. Sunlight turns them beautiful mirrored gold, and they transition much faster when I return indoors than my old transitions lenses did. Love this new lens technology! If you're on the fence about upgrading, my recommendation is to just go for it. Life is short and you deserve it after surviving 2020.

Dr. Hudgins and the front desk staff were both great. The office is a little tricky to find in the building if you park at the front, but the office itself is very clean and welcoming. The front desk was friendly and efficient, and the doctor was very much the same. He also takes care to explain all the diagnostics, what he is doing, and what the results mean. This was my first visit after experiencing some natural degradation in my eyesight. The changes in my vision were very minor so Dr. Hudgins said "I know part of my job is to sell you something, but you really don't need glasses yet unless the changes in your vision are affecting your quality of life." It was very refreshing to have a doctor who was so honest and communicative with their patients. I may not need glasses right now, but when I do, I know where I will be returning!

He saved me from losing my vision two times and each time when he presented the diagnosis he jumped into a plan of action. We love him and his staff. Highly recommended. Dr. Donathan Hudgins graduated from Appalachian State University in 1989 earning a Bachelor's of Science degree in biology. In 1993, he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston, College of Optometry. Dr. Hudgins completed an externship in primary eye care at the Womack Army Medical Center General Optometric Clinic. He also completed two tertiary externships at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center concentrating in Corneal and Anterior Segment Pathology and Neurological Ocular Disorders. Dr. Hudgins performs all aspects of primary and secondary eye care, including comprehensive examinations of adults and children, treatment of eye injuries and diseases, fitting of contact lenses and spectacles.
