The Eye Institute OD, PA

I've been very impressed with the level of care and attention to detail here. Dr. Palo was thorough, answered all of my questions and explained things in a way that was easy to understand. Its not always easy to find an office that feels genuinely personal but this one does. Will definitely continue coming back!

I was called in at my appointment time without waiting. My eyes were scanned by the nurse and she had me look at the eye hart to check my vision. The Dr came in shortly after she was finished. I was impressed with the new technology which took pictures of my eyes. They had two large screens with the interior of my eye on each screen. They Dr said everything looked good. They didn't have to dilate my pupils. That was a first. I was out in 20 minutes.Amazing!

I had a mixed experience here... The optometrist was friendly and professional which I appreciated. Unfortunately, my interaction with the front desk staff was uncomfortable. I felt pressured to purchase more expensive vision tests and multiple glasses add-ons even after clearly stating that I was on a student budget. The billing was also unclear and not transparent...I ended up paying much more than expected and was later billed again several months after the visit for additional charges that were never explained upfront. The lack of transparency and aggressive upselling from front staff sadly overshadowed what was otherwise a perfectly fine routine eye checkup.

I received excellent care during my emergency visit to the Seaboard location. The entire staff was compassionate and understanding. Dr. Palo was kind, knowledgeable, and reassuring. Highly recommend!

Avoid if you want a professional eye doctor and experience. I have had the opportunity to work with many different eye doctors throughout the years, and Dr. Palo is worst of them. It was my first time visiting the office and Dr. Palo. The first thing he tells me is he will be changing the brand of contacts I wear. I ask him why he is doing this, even before checking my eyes or asking if I wanted to change the brand of contacts I currently wear. He says that there are better brands and he is going to change me to a brand he perfers. Once again, I ask why would you change my brand without asking me, even though I have had two different optimists recommend the current brand I wear and one wears them herself. He says the brand he is recommending is better, I ask if can provide any evidence/facts that detail the differences between the brands and why his recommendation is better? He becomes defensive and can't not provide any facts/details between the two brands and just says they are "better". I tell him I will not be switching, and he becomes visibly frustrated and condescending telling me that the other optimists that had recommended me the brand are wrong and outdated. I told him that my past optimist wore that brand, and my good friend who just graduated from optometry school said that is the best brand of contact lenses. Low and behold after the exam was over, he offers me some trial lenses of my new prescription in my preferred brand, but they don't happen to have any of that brand in stock. That's peculiar wouldn't you say? Also, the cherry on top is when performing the eye tests on their equipment, it was not clean as I could see makeup from previous patients still on the eye pieces. In conclusion it was an unprofessional experience and don't recommend Dr. Palo to anyone.

This is a wonderful place! I have always been a Costco eyeglasses place and that is now in the past! Their glasses selection, and the folks that help you pick out your frames, are just top-notch! And I can't say enough about Dr. Palo. Kind, caring and reassuring. Wish I had changed sooner!

I had the most phenomenal experience today with the team at The Eye Institute. Specifically, my girl Sam, who got me RIGHT. She was so personable, friendly, and honest. The customer service was THROUGH THE ROOF. And an added bonus? Dr. Palo was quick, professional, and personable. All around 10/10.

The care that Dr. Palo offered was awesome. He took more time with me than any past eye doctor (I've been wearing glasses for decades). Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. All the technology and equipment was very current, almost futuristic (in a good way). Loved it. Highly recommended!
