I have been seeing Dr Lyerly for years! I am very pleased with the professional care and concern she shows for not just my eye health but overall wellbeing. I recently had a fall that resulted in a concussion and she took the time to go over all my eye test and explain everything to me. Even said I would benefit from physical therapy for the eyes - which I must admit I had not been told about from any of my previous doctors! I will definitely be scheduling a visit for that which I am glad her colleague Dr Barnes does offer that service! Overall very pleased and have complete confidence in the doctors here!

The opticians are also wonderful--very knowledgeable about frame and lens options and genuinely helpful throughout the process. The staff even helped me pick out the perfect pair of frames, which I absolutely love.

We had such an incredible experience with Dr. Barnes when bringing our 9-month-old in to be evaluated for a possible lazy eye. As a parent, it's naturally nerve-wracking to worry about your baby's vision, but from the moment we walked in, we felt completely at ease.
Dr. Barnes was patient, gentle, and so knowledgeable. She took the time to thoroughly test our baby's eyes in a way that was calm, engaging, and little one loved her, gave her all smiles!
Everything was explained clearly, all of our questions were answered, and we never felt rushed. We left feeling informed, reassured, and confident about the next steps.
If you're looking for an eye doctor who is compassionate, experienced, and exceptional with young children, I can't recommend Dr. Barnes enough. We are so grateful for the care our baby received!

We moved to Durham a year ago and discovered Dr. Lyerly at True Vision based on recommendations of the new neighbors in our community. I saw her last year in July and was impressed with how thorough and knowledgeable she is.
Recently I thought my vision had changed a lot because I was having trouble getting things into focus, so I went to see Dr. Lyerly thinking I needed a new prescription. She looked at my glasses and said it just looked like they were out of adjustment, but to make sure she proceeded to perform a complete check of my vision. Everything was nominal, and a quick adjustment took care of the problem.
I would highly recommend Dr. Lyerly for any eye care you need you may have. She is caring and meticulous. You can count on her to go the extra mile.

Dr. Barnes is amazing!! It was my first time at this practice, and her care and expertise was so evident throughout the entire appointment. I mentioned that I have dry eyes (not the reason for the appointment, as I've just gotten used to it and wasn't even trying to address it), and she was able to diagnose the cause right away and offer doable solutions. It's something I've struggled with for over a decade and other eye doctors haven't been able to pick up on the cause. I also had some other questions, and she was able to explain things to me in a way that made so much sense. She gave me some great tips, was very encouraging, and I never felt rushed or like I was just a number. All of the other staff I interacted with were also lovely and so kind! Highly recommend!!

We have been utilizing the Raleigh office for several years now. While my wife and I appreciate the thoroughness of Dr Lyerly, we believe that the service from the optician staff has changed for the worse. Delays in obtaining our new eyewear is not acceptable. When calling after the two week timeframe for our new eyewear, status was not readily available and the requested callback never occurred. After calling a second time , we were told that our request for callback was not received and that there is a delay in obtaining information and accurate status of the order.
What used to be extremely friendly and helpful staff has all but vanished and new staff appears to be struggling and the service has greatly diminished. Time to look elsewhere for future service
