Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Eye Center - Janeway Tower

I didn't have a pleasant visit with them this go around! I felt rushed and uninformed! I felt my questions weren't answered fully! I did not like the notes for after my visit, they definitely don't conincide with the conversation the specialist and l had! Not sure what to think or believe anymore from healthcare providers! More money spent less care provided with even less information given to get to better vision/ health!

Dr Traunero is so kind and talented. She is like the sister that you wished that you had. Dr Traunero's manners are soft and kind leading up to her work, the eye examination. And before you know it, she is asking "what is the smallest line that you can read?" It is amazing, she encouraging and reassuring that you are doing the exact perfect letters and line. Then before you know it , she explains what you and she are going to do next. At the end of the exam and Dr Traunero gives you the results and explains the paperwork, and what is required by law, you almost say "Isn't there anything else". The exam is over and You realize it is going to be at least a year until you see her again and get another eye exam. Dr Traunero is a Atrium Wake Forest Baptist treasure. Look forward to many more visits.

I do feel as if my service was a little rushed. After further investigation I found that I may have been misdiagnosed. I definitely appreciate it the resident doctor having a more seasoned doctor come into check his work/discoveries. But I felt he didn't give it the full attention needed. Other than that the staff was nice very professional. They did not have you waiting and wasting your time like the emergency room.

I had an appointment with Dr. Treadwell, and I am very pleased with the entire visit. Beginning with the folks at the check-in counter all the way through the visit. Everyone did a fantastic job. Dr. Tredwell explained in detail what was going on with my vision, taking time to tell me about my options and what she thinks will be necessary in the future. Very pleased with this visit. This appointment was for my husband. Dr. Tredwell and staff were very courteous and professional. Cataract surgery post-op appointment. Everything went well and he has had no pain.

Dr. Shah and his staff at The Eye Center in Janeway Tower saved the vision in my left eye. I was sent to Dr. Shah with a retinal detachment from the VA and he was able to figure out what caused it and he repaired it with a vitrectomy. I have to go to The Eye Center every 3 months so they can keep monitoring my eyes to prevent this from happening again. Dr. Shah also keeps a check through labs to make sure the medicines I have to take don't damage my body. I can't thank Dr. Shah and his staff enough for what they have done for me. I know for sure that they improved my quality of life. Without them, I probably would have never found out what was wrong with me. I will be for ever grateful to Dr. Shah and his staff at The Eye Center.

I had to schedule an immediate appointment for a sudden occurrence and they scheduled me in for the same day. The immediate care was prompt and follow on care scheduled right after. I was well taken care of in this initial visit.

My recent experience at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Eye Center was mostly good. All staff members were kind, pleasant, professional and friendly. Only 2 items were unpleasant. When I checked in I was informed someone would come out to the waiting area to get me and push me in the wheelchair to the respective area when my number was called. That did not happen. A patient in the waiting area eventually took it upon himself to instruct another patient to hold the door open as he pushed me from the waiting area down the hall to the area I had been called to.. Secondly, after all the preliminary testing and tasks had been completed, I was taken to a room and told the Dr would be with me soon. I had no way to tell time, but it seemed to me I was alone in that room, door closed, unable to move freely on my own for an unreasonably long time. It seemed to be at least 40 minutes or more. I needed to go to the bathroom. No one looked in to check on me a single time. That was most unpleasant. After the long awaited few minutes with the Dr. I was sent to have injections, one in each Eye. The nursing staff and Dr during that procedure were extremely helpful, informative, reassuring, professional yet friendly. They put me at ease, explaining everything in easy to understand terms in the nicest manner. Thank you Jordan, Molly and Sharon!!! They made my whole experience very satisfactory.
