Dr Pecen worked me in on one of the busiest days of the year following the storms. She is exceptional. Gave me the most thorough exam I've ever had following scary new symptoms that I was afraid might be related to my insulin-dependent T2 diabetes. Her explanations of findings, options, and what to do in case of future developments were very clear, as was the written material she provided. I cannot recommend her more highly! Plus, everyone at the office, including techs and reception, were very kind and respectful.

Staff were very pleasant and accommodating to me. Dr. Pecen and her assistant were awesome and made me feel at ease in an emergency situation. Excellent experience. I would highly recommend this practice and will be recommending them to other patients.

Dr Grissom is very thorough in both exams and treatment and I have felt absolutely comfortable communicating with him and being his patient. I appreciate the way that he greets his patients when entering and leaving the exam room. Too bad I can't say this about my other doctors.

In February 2025, I endured a retina laser surgery so distressing I felt like I was being tortured. I could barely breathe. I clutched the chair for dear life, was offered three aspirin and an 5 min break and told "I can put a needle in your eye if needed". I spent 5 minutes after, head in hands, trying to simply breathe and recover. My previous review was removed, but I need people to know I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Very efficient and personable staff. Dr. Shah was friendly and pleasant. He demonstrated professionalism, addressed my concerns and demonstrated good communication skills.

I've been searching for a good place to have LASIK eye procedure. I was excited to find a place in the W-S area! I called the direct office number (listed on the website) and the receptionist told me this is not the number to call to schedule appointments. She sounded irritated, but new or potential patients will not know there is a completely different number to call if it's not on your website. So I asked her for the number, because she didn't volunteer to give it to me. I called and the nightmare began. You get that impersonal automatic professional, then press 1,2,3,0,etc., then hold. I was on hold for 34 minutes. (I literally drove from Winston to Greensboro on hold.) I finally got a voicemail and the woman (Tina) said she'd call you back. Of course, no callback. I called the next day, and the same deal....hold forever, then leave a message for Tina. I called the Greensboro office because I'm just trying to schedule a simple consult......same deal but nicer receptionist....you have to call (Tina). So I called the number again and stayed on hold forever, then left ANOTHER message for Tina. No response. I called back later after work...pressed 0 to speak to an operator....she told me they have like 14 offices and 30 providers, for which Tina schedules for all locations! She also said it would be days to weeks when she can return your call!! I don't have that kind of time, and I feel like it should not be this difficult to get information. I reached out to another facility, and was able to schedule during my initial contact. I really hate I couldn't go with Carolina Eye Associates, but Tina is just tooooo busy....

I needed to have cataract surgery, I've had both surgeries now. So far, I'm a couple from the last surgery, and my eyesight is fantastic! I can't say enough about how awesome it is to regain my eyesight! The entire staff at Carolina Eye Associates deserves my 5-star rating plus more . Dr. Grissom was the doctor who performed the surgeries; he did an excellent job. He explained everything very well and was very professional. The nurses preparing you for and after the surgeries are all wonderful! I can't say enough how comforting and caring they were. All around, it was a great experience. I was nervous and apprehensive about having surgery. I would recommend this practice to all my friends and family!
