Duke Eye Center of Winston-Salem

This review is for how this clinic or business works and not the staff. They try to process as many people as humanly possible. I spent over 2 hours in the clinic but less than 10 minutes of total examination time with two different assistants and the doctor. for the doctor to see so many people as humanly possible, the assistants have to be quick too. One of the two girls that examined me came into the room running and spent less than two minutes with me. If I didn't answer fast enough, she moved to the next question. Absolutly repulsive. I felt like very bad. I had to pay online before going there. Money is all they care about. Other clinics are like that too. Slow down guys. My cat reveives much better attention at the Vet. Anybody knows a Vet that does cataract surgury? This country needs a single payer healthcare system to stop the expensive garbage care methods most clinics are doing.

Dr Moya was recommended and he didn't disappoint. Sure you may have to wait awhile but he is SO worth it. He is extremely knowledgeable and when he explains procedures, I understand the goal and have "seen" the results. Helped me with Cataract and Glaucoma. .

My husband is a patient at this practice and the wait is long but, the care he gets is worth it. The people that do all the preparations before the doctor comes in are all very nice and polite. We are VERY satisfied with Dr. Moya.

While my diagnosis was not what I wanted to hear, the care I received was top-notch! They did several tests over a 5 hour period. Each technician that performed a test was extremely thorough, professional and caring. I knew ahead of time what to expect so was prepared with things to occupy the downtime between tests. I was there over lunch time, but they provided us with free snacks and drinks. I've never seen that before. Once all the tests were compiled and reviewed, I met with Dr. Moya to get the final diagnosis. His calm, quiet demeanor calmed my nerves. He provided a very detailed explanation of my issues and a treatment plan I could easily follow. Thank you Duke Eye Center for your quick actions to help save my vision!

Dr Semchyshyn was absolutely worth the almost 3 hours spent there. Each person I encountered was extremely personable while being professional. Had sense of humor too!! Dr Semchyshyn is amazing he put all fears and doubts about surgery to bed. And I really hate to see low rating because of wait. They are good, not back there twiddling thumbs! Rate their performance not based on your inflated self worth cause you feel u wasted ur precious time out of one day!!!

There is a minimum wait usually of two hours just to see a technician then another half hour more to see the doctor ! I have been going there for over ten years and have always been given an eye exam without asking. Even though I get the same exam, no prescription for my eyes , I will need to come back in order to get a prescription. Ridiculous! I get past due notifications for my visit before I even receive a paper bill

Dr. Semchyshyn was great listened, explained thoroughly, very personable and wonderful staff. Thankyou all for making the process easier. Things ran smoothly for me and no long waits. Will be returning for other eye surgery. I truly appreciate all the care you gave me. Thankyou again

Arrived at 7:35 for an 8 am appointment. The check in process took extremely long (7:52). I was then told I had to wait in my car which is understandable concidering I was getting over the pinkeye. At around 5 after 8 they called and asked a bunch of questions and told me I'd be in an isolation room and that she would come out to get me in 5 minutes. 10 minutes later she came to the door and placed me in a room with a busted up chair and worn equipment and said the doctor will be in. It is now 5 after 9 and nobody has even checked in here for anything. I went out the door to find out how much longer it would be and ended up speaking with what seems to be the only professional in the building (Kara) I explained to her the importance of my rest as I work nights in transportation. She understood and left to check on the wait. She promptly returned and said the doctor was finishing up with another patient and would be with me shortly. It is now 26 minutes after 9 and still nothing. I got a refund of my copay and was seen somewhere else. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Although I tend to be impatient at times, this wasn't the issue. To get up that early and to be asked to arrive 15 minutes earlier than the appointment only to be there over 2 hours with no one even bothering to step in a say anything is absurd. Never will I ever come here nor will I Recommend this place to any of my family and friends.
