I'm sorry. I like the people here very much Very nice. However, that's not everything. I had been going there since about 2018 and everything was going well. I got a pair of glasses this year where the lenses won't stop getting scratched, and I'm a 30 year glasses customer who isn't doing anything different in their glasses care. This isn't right. Well I just got someone to basically tell me I'm not on crack, they have a different lab for the glasses since 2023. My a ha moment. I'm sorry but this place is using a bad lab now and therefore, get your exam here by all means! But! You don't wanna buy their glasses. I feel so bad saying this but I've been very upset lately about this and it has affected my life, and wow, it's just glasses, they shouldn't make me this upset. This just isn't right. But hey now I know I'm not making this up, at least.

One of the only places that take medicaid insurance types so many of us have no choice, but even when I pay them out of pocket whatever they charge for other options and for stronger lenses, the lenses are still crap. The frames were always OK but the cleaning cloths given to us for wiping lenses scratches the cheap plastic lenses, so I'm going elsewhere and pay way more to get Zeiss quality lenses because I'm sick and tired of not being able to see. I'm dainty and easy on things but still, the first time I wipe my new lenses, I always get scratches, for years now. Not dealing with it anymore. While I appreciate the owner/Dr for providing for poor people, I just can't deal with having such poor quality lenses. I will use my whole monthly pay to get better glasses somewhere else. Idc anymore.

I went there about 4 weeks ago to get glasses and still waiting on him? It's excuse after excuse after excuse. First they told me the Frames were on back order. Next excuse was they couldn't get that colored frame. So I told them just give me whatever color they had. Call back a week later and they told me those frames around back order. Then I asked him if they could just switch the lenses in my glasses, and they don't even have lenses.

Worse experience every! Took 5 weeks to get glasses with the excuse from staff that it was lab issue. Took 7 weeks to get sunglasses with same excuse. Wasn't until after several calls and a request of my money back did I finally get them the next day, very convenient! Now that I have them, I can't see any small print with my bifocals. I'm sure that was my great exam that consisted of just reading lines on the wall. Do yourself and your eyes a favor and go anywhere else!

Don't waste your time with this place!! They don't answer the phone & when they do you're told their system is down & they'll call you back, which they never do. Apparently if you have a family larger than 2 you can't get same day appointments which is real stupid and inconvenient. What a joke

Nice staff, just wished they had a reasonable amount of contacts in stock! Even if they had some trial ones in case of emergencies so you didn't always have to wait a week!

I've been going here for several years, had eye exams by both Dr Helfrich Sr & Jr. Both doctors and all of their staff are great!
