ProMedica Physicians Eye Care - Sylvania

I was diagnosed with diabetes and had an important eye appointment at this office. I got a call telling me the doctor couldn't see me on the day of my appointment coming up. They wanted to reschedule two months later from my original appointment! Unbelievable. I'm now looking elsewhere for a place that treats its customers/patients with respect. There are half a dozen other places in the Sylvania/Toledo area that do this work with much better reviews. This is the only bad service I've ever had from Pro-Medica. This entire office needs reviewed by whatever management team they have at Pro-Medica.

It was my first time here for my eye exam. Receptionist, greeter, nurse, doctor, the glasses lady... ( idk what to call them) are exceptional! I just wish they explained what happens to you when you get your eyes dilated , because whew. That morning sun can blind you. Overall everything was professional and I enjoyed my visit

Once again, Dr. Rachel Obrock proves that she is at the top of her profession during my yearly follow-up appointment. She consistently takes the time to explain my conditions and the necessary steps involved in their treatment. Administrative staff was kind and courteous, with a sense of humor, which I find refreshing.

I've been a patient here for 7+ years. The doctors are ok. Kind of slow in the office at times. The woman that makes your appointment needs some training in not being rude. Recently I called to make an appointment, I was told the middle of Feb was the next avail. for a simple eye exam, it's the beginning of June right now. This is unacceptable. Time to look elsewhere, not waiting a whole year for an exam from mediocre doctors at best. (Edit) I will not be reaching out, I just want others to know what to expect, when dealing with your location. Reaching out will only be wasting more of my time and will change nothing.

The office staff are rude and very inept. The doctors are great. We ordered contacts over a year ago and have been checking every week and they keep telling us that are on back order. Finally one day they call and tell us they have been there since February. This is over 4 months ago. Our script is about to expire and they were trying to tell us we have to see the doctor again. Absolutely not. It's their fault they are so inept. This is probably the worse run office I've ever encountered. The staff will call you and hang up immediately before you have time to pick up just so they can document that they tried calling you. It's really pathetic. When you call them back they are very rude. This is deplorable. Again, the doctors are amazing. But the entire staff needs to go. So very hard to deal with people like this.

I want to start off and say that my doctor is amazing but today the receptionist was awfully rude. I called for an emergency appointment since I had previously done testing from my at home nurse and when my testing came back, they said that I need to urgently make a eye doctor appointment since my test came back abnormal. I told the receptionist all of this, but she proceeded to say that she needed proof that it was in fact an emergency and I told her that I'm a diabetic, and I've had blurry vision for a couple days now and she proceeded to say that doesn't matter because they have many "abnormal" Patients that come in, so how does she know that mine is urgent. I couldn't believe that I was spoken to this way and it was very irritating when she kept raising her voice at me.

I'd give 0 stars if allowed. Trust was definitely lost experience was beyond terrible.

If I could give less than 1 star I absolutely would for my daughter. I called Friday and left a half message (my fault due to work) because I forgot about the appointment and didn't know the location. They went a canceled the appointment without notifying me. They were going to see me but the receptionist was absolutely disrespectful with her tone. She told me things that no one from the office told me in regards of needing referred on to Toledo. In addition, my daughter is being Fostered at this time. I have the permit to bring her to appointments but my DCS worker NEVER gave it to me through actual paper but electronic. They REFUSED to have me send it to them nor look at it. I have all the paperwork plus her insurance card. They refused care when I told them I don't have a hard copy. Then the receptionist back tracked when I asked her to refer me on. Lastly, I asked for a school note as my daughter would be late for school. They refused as they "didn't see her". This office was nothing but complicated. The receptionist was absolutely disrespectful and I will be notifying patient advocate. Do not go here. EDIT: I find the response also absolutely ridiculous. I did call the number prior it to be given to me yesterday. I am still waiting on a response.
