Retina Vitreous Associates

Dr. Sameer Al-Shweiki would be a 0 star if possible for his rudeness, lack of professionalism, and ability to navigate through a problem caused by a procedure done by him. I was only scheduled for a retinal exam, but he suggested a laser procedure that would help with future "issues" and he stated my eye would be clear in 2 hours. With almost no vision for several days, his response was to wait and see if it gets better. I called him every day after the procedure and told him I was wearing a patch over the eye just to function. The only message I received was to come the following week and get the other eye done, maybe that would help even it out. I continued to call and after a week I got an appointment to see him. The tech stated over the phone that my vision should have been clear after 2 hours. At this appt. he stated that the tests showed the retina was fine and he had no idea why my vision was blurry and obviously it wasn't due to the procedure he performed, although I had no blurriness before the procedure. He referred me to another specialist and was beyond rude. The staff was very nice. I certainly cannot trust Dr. Al-Shweicki with my vision, I'm praying that I can find someone that can assist me to restore my vision back to where it was, this is a nightmare.

Dr. Nelson is great, once you actually get to see him. My husband has had multiple appointment's where he as waited for more than two hours before they even get started. We respect their time by showing up on time for our appointment, and sadly are not shown the same courtesy. There is absolutely no reason a 45 minute appointment should take over three hours.

Dr. Nelson is the GOAT! In 20 years of having Histo...I've only ever had 2 doctors. He is the 2nd. I was told awhile back he had retired, I actually cried. I can't imagine my eyes being trusted with anyone else. Now I'm sure there are other great retinal docs out there...but for me...he's it!

Overall Dr. Nelson did a wonderful job with my retina tear. However I'm left with a floater that is not going away, it's affecting my vision, and I called to talk to Willow, and asked if they do YAG laser to bust up the floater. Because I was told that's what they can do if you have a pretty major one like I do have. I thought Dr Peterson was wonderful, and Dr Nelson and the staff however when I called today I just felt like I was shut down. Will explain that they only do laser for cataracts, and I know for a fact YAG laser can also be used to bust up the floater. Mine is a massive. Not a fan today folks.

This is perhaps the most efficient doctor's office I have ever been at. I had all the tests and saw the Dr and was out the door in 40 minutes. The Dr. surprised me as she is a Muslim woman and she tossed out my small town stereotypes. She had a great sense of humor and a very caring attitude. I was very pleased in all ways about my experience here

I have always been very satisfied with my appointments with Dr. Nelson. His Staff is very well trained, courteous and efficient in doing the prep exams. Dr. Nelson is very detailed and clear in his examinations. He answers all questions precisely and with terminology that is understandable to the patients. If possible, he offers degrees of future treatment and his opinion at to the effectiveness. In the end the patient has a very clear understanding of the situation and can make a decision on treatment.
