Dr. Buerk is one of my favorite doctors ... this coming from someone who hates going to any doctor. His attitude is always friendly and professional. He explains things patiently and he "tells it like it is". Likewise, the staff are all professional and friendly. When dealing with a doctor and staff who "control" the future of you vision, one chooses very carefully. I would choose Dr. Buerk and CVP again without hesitation.

I found the staff at the Dayton Eye Surgical Center to be very helpful and supportive. Dr. Wilkes came to see me before the anesthesia was administered. Both he and the anesthesiologist, Gary, were very personable and easy to talk with about the procedure. I would like to thank my pre-op nurse, Melinda, for putting me at ease. The entire procedure seemed to pass quickly for me, and Dr. Wilkes gave me my instructions both verbally and in writing. My follow-up was the next morning and again, the instructions were clear. I was very pleased with Dr. Wilkes' proficiency in such a difficult and sensitive procedure. They said this procedure has an 85% success rate. Thank you, Dr. Wilkes for making me one of the successes.

About Bruce Buerk, MD

Dr. Buerk, a native of Oxford, Ohio, earned a medical degree from The Ohio State University. He completed a residency as an ophthalmologist at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago, Illinois where he was selected Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed a vitreo-retinal fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Buerk has been a co-author of several peer-reviewed journals in various topics of ophthalmology and presented posters at national meetings such as the Retina Society and the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology. He is married to Dr. Radha Reddy, a Dayton native, who is a board-certified OB/GYN. In 2004, Dr. Buerk joined Retina Physicians & Surgeons.
