I called in to make an appointment and the person who answered seemed botherd by my call. We went through the whole process of giving my information until we got to insurance and the call cut off. I had given them my number but I never received a call back. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and called back a few days later. The person I spoke with asked about insurance. Since my insurance didn't apear in their system they considered it out of network. My insurance is co-pay structured and there are no in network or out of network providers. We can go to any provider. I asked if they could reach out to the insurance and they said they don't do that. Then they explained that I would have to sign a waiver and pay $150. They then would submit to the insurance. Once approved by the insurance I would get reimbursed. Which is fine. But then they didn't say anything like they didn't want to have to deal with it. They didn't ask if I still wanted to set up an appointment. So they lost a new patient/customer.

Dr. Schoenberger, a Columbus native, earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, where he was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his ophthalmologist residency at the University of Cincinnati and completed a vitreo-retinal fellowship at Vanderbilt University where he received the J. Donald Gass, M.D., Endowed Fellowship. Dr. Schoenberger has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in ophthalmic and medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Schoenberger is married to Dr. Arshia Ali, an internist who practices medicine in Cincinnati.
