Horrible eye institute! Wife has Appt to have cataract surgery and they forgot to notify hospital. We arrived and they had no record of surgery. Wasted several hours of our time then a week later for rescheduled afternoon surgery and they moved appt up without telling us. Hospital called and said we had a 1:00pm Appt card said 3:15pm. Very stressful and frustrating to say least. Dean McGee Office manager said they changed and forgot to notify us. She thought it was funny and laughed while my wife In tears over just trying to get vision fixed. We will never recommend Dean McGee to anyone.
Had an eye appointment scheduled for one year with Dr. Platt in September 2025, a few days before the office called and said they have to reschedule for the 14th of October. I called to reschedule my appointment for the 14th due to unforeseen circumstances, this happened on October 6th. I was told the earliest appointment available was in May and not in the most professional tone from the office staff. I was very satisfied for years with this office but the unprofessional and rude staff in the office has made me decide to seek my care elsewhere. Written for Ursula Sreaves
Referred to Dean McGee, by my daughter, a year ago and couldn't be happier! Dr. Jessica Lucas is the best, imho. She is attentive, personable, and does her homework prior to visit. This may seem like it should be industry standard, but she is the standard that the industry follows! Even having been a year since seeing her last, with several eye issues, it was if I had seen her last week. She knew exactly what we had previously discussed, so there was no re-hashing or getting up to speed, as she was already ahead of me with most of my queries, questions, and even accommodated me with answers about general eye questions for my own edification. Again, this should be the standard, and if you find it is not at your current eye-care facility, you need to come to this Dean McGee office! The front desk staff is cheerful and pleasant, and the techs are friendly and personable as well. Do yourself a solid and 'SEE' Dr. Jessica Lucas!
If you have all day to wait, then this place is for you. I had, at the least, an hour and a half wait to see the Dr at each of my 5 visits (both here and at their main office on Stanton L Young Blvd). One visit was a 2 hour wait!!! I sat there and thought about all the things I could have been doing in that time...my time obviously didn't matter to them. By the time the Dr got to me, I was livid!
After cataract and Lens replacement surgery, I was referred to another Dr (also with Dean McGee), who also ran behind an hour and a half my 1st appointment and nearly 2 hrs on the 2nd.
Not a way to conduct business as far as I'm concerned. They have no consideration for their clients time.
Go somewhere else!
The wait time is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Almost 2 hours & we are still sitting here waiting.
Will make ALL appointments in OKC from now on.
There is NO kid areas by the way. So.if you have littles that come with you be prepared.
Just horrible.
I have been to this facility twice and both times the appointment took more than an hour and a half to complete. Of that hour and a half, I was with a professional for perhaps 10 minutes total.
I was not informed that they were running behind schedule, received no apology or even mention of the fact that I was there for so long.
The first time I wrote it off as them having a hard day, but after hearing from some of the other patients in the full secondary waiting room I am convinced that this is simply a process issue.
I would have greatly appreciated any acknowledgement of my wasted time.
Dr. Plant is extremely personable and very thorough!
Edit to my previous review from 3 years ago. I do still LOVE Dr. Plant! She's just the best.
But it is a real toss-up what you are going to get with the team up front and on the phones. Tina who answered my call today to reschedule an appointment was completely unprofessional. It's as if she was scolding me for bothering her at work and asking questions about availability.
Wow, I went on Tuesday to see Dr.Plant. I can't say enough how pleased I am with her.I've gone to Dean McGee for years around 7 or more.Dr. Plant is my doctor. She is so professional, any part of DM you go to are professionals. I recently had cataract surgery / Dr.Jackson was awesome. But my heart goes to Dr.Plant.... Anyway, I had a problem with my eyes and I went in to see her. (I basically knew it was allergies because I had the same thing happen To me about 15 yrs ago) but I needed to go in anyway and I'm glad I did.because I had no idea how to treat my allergies in my eye.( same happen to me. Many years ago). she saw me very early before her regular appointments. I'm so grateful to her because I know for a fact how busy she is. My eyes have cleared up and are better already. I will continue treatment as advised by Doctor. I truly trust the doctors at DM.
