Retina Vitreous Center

In October of 2024 I woke up with a black spot in my eye. Turned out I had a torn retina. I was terrified. 2 days later, Dr. Shah performed surgery and reattached my retina. I don't normally give reviews, but after being treated by Dr. Shah over the past year, I wanted to post a review to say "thank you for giving me my sight back, Dr. Shah!" And for talking me through my fears. You are THE BEST! If anyone out there needs a retina specialist, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Shah! Thanks again, Doc!

The first time I visited, I swear the doctor was looking for a check. He could barely hear my questions before pushing lasik on me. I decided to go back and second time, as I don't like looking for new doctors and I get there. 10 mis before appointment, get called back 20 mins later. They dilated me and now I'm sitting 40 mins. I finally ask a nurse, she says I'm next....its been another 10 mins. I total, I have been waiting 50 mins and I about to walk out. Very inconsiderate at People's time and patience.

My central vision is getting so bad. I have more blind spots and distortion. RVC has just continued to brush it off. Super disappointed. Everything my optometrist said I should call immediately for was not taken seriously. Dr Hunts scribe spoke over me, asked if I was taking the vitamins and said there was nothing they could do anyway.

Visiting from out of town we had a vision emergency. We came in close to 5 and was seen very quickly (before completion of all paperwork). We saw Dr Astani who was quick to assess, direct and to the point about what he thought. The news was not good and although he apologized for the direct delivery of this information we were appreciative of the speed of the appointment and assessment and for the directness rather than waiting hours and not getting anything definitive and being sent home. He asked for our Colorado Dr and assured us he would send over his notes in the morning which he did. We sadly are unable to save the vision due to detached retina that was not assessed early enough but thankful for the efficient and honest treatment we got by Dr Astani. Would not hesitate to visit them again should we have another reason to while in OK.

I have driven my mom to and from this clinic a few times. The only thing I can comment on is the scheduling. Whoever does scheduling here or whoever is forcing this person to make scheduling the way they do needs to be fired. This is excruciating. 2 hrs after arriving for her appt I am still waiting in the car for her to get out. There is absolutely no reason for this nonsense. Doctors go to school for a long time and should be smart people. How can they let this place be overbooked every single day?! And yeah, sure, they prob do have emergencies to work in but if this happens every day maybe schedule 5 less appts everyday.

Edited to a lower score after never being sent any bills then getting messages of payment reminders that a payment is due soon. The staff was absolutely great, my dad has had a good experience with his doctor there, Dr Shah. However, I was assigned to Dr David Grasic, who I would never recommend to anyone. I wish I had seen a previous review left about him beforehand. Extremely condescending and doesn't do any follow through, even when he says he will. I obtained my visit summary to find I had several new diagnoses - none of which he went over with me or even told me about. He told me that he'd personally call me to tell me my genetic testing results - never did. I had to request the lab that completed my test to provide a copy of my genetic results to me because Dr Grasic never spoke to me again after my appointment. And even when I called the center, I was told by someone that he said nothing's wrong with me and I don't need to come back. Even though my genetic test results came back positive for a variant to be monitored. I was very impressed with the different exams that various staff members conducted and even though I may not have needed them just to complete a genetic test, I'm still glad the staff did all the different exams. I called my eye doctor at Omni Eye Institute and they promptly scheduled me to come in so that they can go over all my new diagnoses that I read from my RVC exams and genetic testing results.

We are so grateful for Dr. Phelps and the team at RVC. They have been managing my mom's care for quite some time. Plan to be there for several hours; they are triaging care constantly. Especially grateful for Tia, Kelsey and Maci who have recently made our experience as smooth and pleasant as possible with their kindness and empathy. This team's calling is not easy, be sure to thank them!!

The staff is excellent, and the facility is beautifully built. However, if you are given to Dr David Grasic, immediately ask for a different doctor. He will try to get as much money from you as quickly as possible. It was the scariest experience I have ever spent $700 on for a 60-second procedure. He will not respond to any concerns or provide expectations and leaves the room before you can push yourself away from the laser. He's happy to tell you if he feels you need to spend more money and will make for that. But once it seems you aren't willing to let him potentially blind your other eye he's gone.
