Due to referral from my Optometrist, I have attended the offices of OTEC for tests, examinations & diagnosis for 2+ years. One week ago, I had refractive laser cataract surgery, performed by Dr.
Tam. And today, I had my 1st checkup with Dr. Dang.
From my initial visit a couple years ago up to today, I can say that everyone there is friendly, courteous, willing to assist you, make you feel comfortable and always professional. From the receptionists to the techs performing the tests to the admin/surgery coordinator to the Optometrists to the Drs! And also to the nurses working in pre-op and the O.R. An incredible group who know their jobs well, and have aced Customer Service in spades.
It's a happy pleasurable experience. Thank you!

In November 2024, after a visit to my optometrist, I learned that a cataract had begun forming in my left eye which also had moderate astigmatism. Although my vision was still manageable with updated prescription lenses--which I've worn for more than 40 years--it deteriorated rapidly over the next seven months, eventually affecting my night driving. It became clear that the cataract had progressed significantly in a short time.
After researching cataract surgery and the pros and cons of available lens options, I realized that a standard mono-focal lens covered by OHIP would not meet my needs. Combined with the long OHIP wait times, I began looking for a provider that offered both timely treatment and the full range of IOL choices. This led me to OLEC.
My experience with OLEC was outstanding. Appointment scheduling was efficient, follow-up was consistent, and the entire process; from my first consultation to surgery, was completed within one month. I'd like to acknowledge Dr. Gill and Ashley for their responsiveness and support throughout the process. And a special thank-you to Dr. Dang, who performed the surgery and implanted my new lens.

I recently had cataract surgery and opted for Light Adjustable Lenses (LAL) at Oakville Laser Eye Centre after visiting several other clinics to compare options and get a feel for each organization. I'm very glad I chose this team.
Dr. Dang performed the cataract removal and implanted the Light Adjustable Lens, and Dr. Gill completed the lens adjustments over several weeks until I was completely happy with both the lens and my vision. The process is incredible--being able to "test drive" your vision and fine-tune it afterward is something I never imagined was possible. The results have been amazing.
The staff throughout the clinic were excellent. Sadaf, who helped with intake, was especially wonderful--friendly, organized, and reassuring. Everyone took the time to explain what they were doing and what to expect next, and they answered every question patiently and clearly, without ever making you feel rushed or embarrassed. They truly understand that this can be an anxious and uncomfortable experience, and they treat you with care and respect.
If I could give 10 stars, I would. I highly recommend Oakville Laser Eye Centre.

The best!! I had bilateral cataract surgery 3 weeks ago, performed by Dr. N. Dang. Everything was fast, efficient and totally uneventful. Two days post op, I was cleared to drive - without prescription glasses, which I had been using for over 50 years! Throughout the process, I felt looked after. Dr. Dang was always available and checked up on me regularly. She is a very talented physician and is as personable an individual as you could hope to meet.

I recently had FEMTO laser-assisted cataract surgery with the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) at Oakville Laser Eye Centre, and my experience from start to finish was exceptional.
From my very first visit with Dr. Dang, through all of the detailed testing with each of the ophthalmic technicians, to my final UV adjustments with Dr. Gill, I found the entire team to be highly professional, knowledgeable, and reassuring. The level of care was consistently excellent at every step.
While the post-operative process with Light Adjustable Lenses is more time-consuming--requiring multiple follow-up visits and UV treatments--the results have been absolutely worth it. After more than 20 years of wearing glasses, I now don't need any glasses for reading, working on the computer, or driving. What a treat!
What also stood out was how clearly the entire process was explained. Despite the complexity of the LAL treatment, everything was broken down in an easy-to-understand way, with organized checklists and systems that kept me on track throughout the journey.
I felt supported, informed, and confident at every stage. I highly recommend Oakville Laser Eye Centre to anyone considering cataract surgery or advanced lens options.

Last year I was told that I needed cataract surgery in my right eye. I chose not to proceed with surgery because I was worried. This year I had another eye examination and again was told that changing my eye glasses lenses would not help my vision significantly as long as the cataract wasn't removed. I decided to go ahead and have the surgery and am so happy that I did. Dr. Iizuka was very efficient, surgery was very quick. I had no pain, swelling, nor redness that I expected. I am so happy that I decided to get this done. Naturally I took precautions afterwards but I felt as good as if I hadn't had anything done.

Very pleased with cataract surgery in both eyes. Got upgraded lenses in both eyes and now can see perfectly at distance. Need reading glasses for tablet and close vision. They explained exactly what was going to happen and really put my dad's mind at ease. They were so kind not just to my dad, but to me as I waited in the waiting room during the procedure.
As I sat there waiting I saw how kind everyone was not just to the people (paitents and families) going in and out of the clinic but also to their coworkers.
They all seemed to really enjoy their jobs, which showed in how well they took care of their patients.
