I had my first ever appointment today at the Waterloo Vision Care Clinic. I am new to the area and used the sun life app to help find an Optometrist. Dr Vermeersh had a 5 star rating with over 100 reviews. From the front desk booking my appointment to the technicians conducting the initial exams and the technician training a new technician to perform field tests the staff were very professional and personable. Dr Vermeersh took the time to explain in common language what she was seeing in the tests that were performed, brought up images on her computer for comparisons and spoke to the risks my medication could present based on dose and birthdays. Without a doubt It was the best eye examination and the best experience I have had at an Optometrist. Dr Vermeersh was also extremely personable. I highly recommend Dr Vermeersh and this Clinic. I have been with this clinic for many years. Dr. Newman has been my primary doctor. I needed care and I saw Dr. Vermeersch who was very thorough in my examination. The staff are all lovely and helpful. I felt well cared for. A great place.

From the warm reception of "Barbie" to the outstanding care of Dr. Vermeersch to the wise help of "Katy" to choose a new frame, all of our needs were met with excellence. I have been coming to your clinic for many years, since not long after you opened. I come because of the excellent care and wonderful staff. When you arrive, the staff at the front desk are very welcoming and friendly. They cheerfully answer all our questions & book our appointments. If anyone is nervous, I am sure they would ease their anxiety. The person I saw initially for testing this past Wednesday, I think her name was Selena...please forgive me if I got her name wrong...she was wonderful ...friendly, explained everything and answered my questions patiently. Then I saw Dr. Newman whom I have seen from when I first attended the clinic many years ago. Have also seen others over the years. She has always been wonderful...is very friendly, explains everything, answers all my questions and is very thorough. I was wearing glasses long before we arrived in Kitchener in the 70s. They make sure I get new lenses as I need them and I have also gotten new frames that I have always been very pleased with. I have never been 'pushed' to buy new frames, ever. Also had contact lenses for a while. I will also mention that a few years ago, while Dr. Elder was testing my vision and we were just chatting, I happened to mention that lately my eyelids kept drooping down. She literally saved my life. She put her tools down, wrote a note that she gave me and told me to go straight to a hospital immediately. I did and was admitted. She realized I had MG, myasthenia gravis. I hope this clinic and all the staff are there for many, many years. They are wonderful. Charmian

Dr. Shoemaker is 5 stars by herself. They took time to explain my vision diagnosis and they helped point out economical frames + lenses that were within my budget that fit my oblong head and my day to day needs for lenses. (Software developer) Even if you go somewhere else for the prescription, Shoemaker never made me feel pressure to buy from only their store which is 100% why I did buy haha. Long story long. Dr. Shoemaker is great. Frame+lenses pricing is less obvious with the lack of price tags, but staff are aware and happy to work with you in a low pressure environment. (My prior eye doc had salesman that would not take no for an answer haha) Included picture are of the nice Nuevo frames that fit my head and their lens combo price was well within budget!

Waterloo vision care is fantastic! The entire staff is welcoming, positive, professional, and upbeat. My appointment is always on time, I never have to wait. Thank you Dr. Bright, I always leave with the knowledge about the impact a chronic condition has had on my vision. My eyes are doing great. Angela spent a lot of time helping me choose two amazing, comfortable, fun, and unique to me, frames. I am set for every day and any occasion. I get lots of compliments too.

Always an exceptional experience. I have been seeing Dr. Newman for at least 30 years. She is thorough and explains everything so clearly- I never feel rushed. From the moment you walk in you know you are important to everyone who works there.

Dr. Newman is very professional and I have been seeing her for 32 years. The assessment was quick and efficient and her advice and diagnosis was consistent with my visual experience. Support staff and selection of glasses was very good. Pleasant. The environment was a happy place.
