Costco Optical Department

I switched to Costco's optometrist 2 years ago after the prices at my local clinic increased too much for me to afford. I've seen two different doctors now and both were incredibly kind and made the exam process super quick! Yesterday they were running behind for my appointment due to the patient prior to me showing up late (not a surprise given that there was no parking at Costco, due to the upcoming holiday) and the receptionist was SO kind. She made sure to check in with the doctor to let them know I had to get back to work, and also was more than happy to let me pop out to buy my kiddo (poor kid had to be at work with me and go to my appt) pizza and let him eat it in their lobby while we waited.

Got great service from Taylor helping me sort out our new insurance. She was very helpful and patient. Thank you

Dr Robertson is awful, if your making appointment do not use her. She did my eye exam my prescription was totally wrong. Went back to have it checked out. She refused to to listen to me or the concerns I had. If zero stars was an option, she get -5 stars.

Was visiting the area from out of town and forgot my contacts at home. I called several places and Costco was the only place that had my brand of lenses. The optimists not only had my lenses in stock but gave me a box free of charge so I could get through the weekend. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend them.

Tried to set up an appt for an eye exam. Very rude phone correspondence. Laughing at simple questions, and not answering my direct questions. Didn't have enough time for me. Tons of loud background noise. She thought she hung up the phone, but I could hear her talking about me after she set the phone down. Hoping the exam will be more pleasant. Or maybe I'll go elsewhere.

Called to find out how much it would cost to get a pair of glasses and an eye exam and all they wanted to do was transfer me to an optometrist. I finally was able to stop her from transferring me and get a price on a pair of glasses. Got that information but I had a few more questions and she was in too much of a hurry to answer them so I said goodbye.

January 4, 2019 I walked in to see if they have available spots, so I asked the old lady in the front desks and she just told me that they were fully booked for 2 weeks and that's it. I even asked her if there's any spots I could get if ever and she completely turned me down. I was expecting that she's going to offer me an appointment at least or asked for my phone number if ever somebody cancelled. I even asked her about my insurance and she just looked at did not run it to see if my insurance will be covering all the costs. I was very polite and she seems very rude towards me. I hate giving bad reviews, but what I've had experience is just terrible customer service. I don't know if this has to do with my ethnicity because she was very helpful with a mother and son in front of me and they weren't colored as me. Just saying.

My experience was a good one. My husband and I were tired of subpar treatment from assorted eye doctors/staff in central Oregon. Not to mention the costs. Last time I ordered glasses - 2 pair - with insurance, my cost was $880.00. I had issues with both pairs. I went to Costco - received good care and 2 pairs of glasses - with insurance - my out of pocket was $274.00. Quite a savings and good quality frames & lens! Yea Coscto !!
