The doctor was obviously very busy, but nonetheless extremely attentive, efficient and knowledgeable. She was particularly expert in explaining her procedures as she performed them. She is also excellent in providing expectations regarding her treatment. A horrible, frightening condition was made tolerable by her expertise.

Dr Verner-Cole is very competent and extremely rushed. I understand that she's very busy -,but she barely spent more than one minute with me. This has been the case each time I've seen her -,which is every 6 months. This time pressure is neither good for the patient nor the practitioner. I'm not sure how this dilemma can be solved - but I have noticed that the medical profession is losing its members because the pressures of daily practice routines has become too much for physicians to handle - and as a result -the patients are being short changed.

My first visit with this doctor. The previous doctor would spend time asking me how my eye sight was and if there were changes. He would share the pictures of my retina and explain any changes. Unfortunately, he left. This doc, Dr Verner-Cole, brushed off any of my concerns, simply said it looked good and changes in the eyesight was typical (which I don't think it is) and completed the procedure (shot in the eye). Everyone at this clinic seems to be in a rush. Dashing here and there. I suspect they're short on time and so can't devote that much time for patients.

About Dr. Elizabeth Verner-Cole, MD
Dr. Elizabeth Verner-Cole is originally from San Antonio, TX. She completed her B.A. in Music at Pomona College in Claremont, CA. She then completed medical school and residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas-Houston Medical School, where she was fortunate to get to work at one of the busiest trauma centers in the country. Following residency, she completed an ophthalmic pathology fellowship in Houston, followed by a two-year fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at OHSU Casey Eye Institute. In 2017 Dr. Verner-Cole was named one of Portland's Top Doctors by Portland Monthly.
