Quoted 1/10th of what I was actually billed. When I was told this is just an estimate, I can understand maybe double that, but after checking with my insurance company and speaking with the representative for this business, they will never be receiving my patronage moving forward. Not an ounce of sympathy in the response or answer as to why my bill was so high. I cannot get a straight answer even when my line of questioning was very direct in making sure I wasn't paying too much for my glasses. The only redeeming quality was the doctor and the lady who sold me the glasses was delightful but that quickly turned sour when my bill went from $35 to $480. Utter nonsense.
The exam for contact fitting is amazing, it's just every time I go to get new glasses I always feel extremely unwelcomed! The staff in front and the people working on the desk treat me as a child but in the back working with the optometrist they are kind and understanding
Sobbing right now because of the experience I am saving with this place. Struggling with major health difficulties and limited income.SPECIFICALLY asked to schedule exe exam for glasses and contacts. Was reassured the doctor would do both at the same time. Had to wait 6 weeks to get in. Called week to double check if there would be an additional charge for contact exam. Told NO, but during actual appointment told I could not get the contact exam until paying $105 additional. I was not rude, but I begged them repeatedly to please take the measurements (like they'd promised) for the contact exam, so I could get the prescription as soon as I had the money. SOOOO UPSET. They are saying I have to go back for another exam with the doctor and pay the fee. I did everything in my power to keep this from happening. Now I have NO contacts, just a broken pair of glasses
I wish I could give it 0 stars. I went to LOOK at frames, not necessarily to buy. I had to check in before I was allowed to look. The line was a 20 min wait. I asked why one had to check in just to look. She said for security and safety of the employees. Once I checked in there were 0 people looking at glasses. I asked the 1 employee for help looking for a particular frame. She said you'll have to look for yourself, I don't exactly know what we have. After looking for 30 min while she sat at her desk, I asked her the price of a pair of glasses,. The slashes were $350.00. I asked for just distance, no bifocal, not sunglasses, and she said they were $920.00! You must be joking. This was such a bitter experience, I have decided to never step foot in there again, this includes using their doctors.
My advice, go to Lenscrafters, they were VERY helpful and their frames were over 50% less.
I went in a month ago to and got my daughter her prescription glasses. I had a wonderful experience at that time. The lady checking us in was very professional and Joe made my daughters experience very pleasant. I went in again today because I had such a great experience, however I regret returning to this office. The lady checking us in was rude and unprofessional. That made me want to leave right then and there but my son was really looking forward to getting his glasses. The lady that helped us pick frames very helpful. I just can't believe how unprofessional I was treated when I was checked in. I will go to another office for my families future needs. Being busy and feeling overwhelmed is not an excuse to be unprofessional.
I wish I could choose less than one star. I'm very upset about the treatment I received today. A little over a year ago I bought new expensive frames for my new glasses. This was the third time I've had to replace the temple piece due to breakage at the hinge. The first time I paid $60 for the left side. The second time when the left one broke, I was told it was covered under the warranty and there was no charge (??). Three weeks ago, the right one broke. When I called to have it ordered, the man I spoke with immediately got angry and didn't want to place my order unless he could see them first. I told him I now lived 4.5 hours away and couldn't simply drop by. I told him to order the part, call me when they were in and I would then make the trip. He didn't call, but I made the trip anyway. When I went in today, a nice woman began to help. I told her that the part was ordered, she took my glasses and went to the back. After a short wait, a man who I assumed to be the one I'd talked with on the phone came out with my repaired glasses, obviously in a bad mood. After I thanked him, he started in about how the breakage was not a defect. I replied that since the break was in the same place three times it had to be a defect in design. He responded in anger with a raised voice to the point that I felt threatened and I had to tell him to calm down. He then told me that there was no charge for the repair. I then asked him why I had to pay for the first one since I was told that the second repair was covered under warranty and this one was covered. It didn't make sense. His reply was that none of them should have been covered. He didn't appreciate my request for a refund of the $60. I like my doctor, but I may change due to this event. I will never, ever get my eyeglasses here again.
Kristen, the manager of the Optic department at the Liberty street location, is nothing short of amazing!! She took the time to listen to my needs, picked multiple pairs for me to try on, worked patiently with me while I debated between 2 pair, made adjustments to both of them so I could truly feel how each pair would be and did it all with a smile! She exemplifies what Customer Service should be! I will be a customer for life!!
I had a great experience dealing with the Optic '49 staff. They helped me find a great pair of glasses that fit what I wanted and they were quick! In the past I've dealt with Kaiser Permanente and their staff was not nearly as helpful. At Optic '49, their knowledge of frames and how they should fit really helped me find something great and I can't wait to get my new glasses!
It was night and day dealing with Optic '49 compared to other retailers and I will never be going anywhere else!!
