B Doty Vision Care

I have been a patient here for as long as I can remember but will not be returning. I have been given the runaround just trying to get glasses for my 4-year-old. They had a small collection for children and I was told to go on a few websites to look for glasses for them to order as what they had was too big for my boy. I asked them for his size and was given a post it with some places to look and his size. However, these sites are not easy to manage and the size I was given did not line up with what was on the manufacturing website. The staff could not be bothered to help us, so I called and requested the prescription so we could go elsewhere. When I explained my frustrations I was told" yea those sites are difficult to navigate and thats not a size, not sure what number they gave you". I was told they would email The prescription but it was never emailed, my complaints were never addressed, my phone calls are not being answered, yet they submitted the claim to the insurance company and got paid. I am simply looking for basic customer service and access to the information that I paid for.

I recently tried B. Doty Vision Care because my vision insurance was no longer accepted at my old optometrist, and I'm so glad it was accepted here. I had the most comprehensive eye exam I've ever experienced. Dr. Magiske was polite, warm, professional, and extremely helpful. He recommended a new brand of contacts and even provided a rebate that saved me extra money. I asked several questions, and he was very patient, making sure I understood everything and that all my concerns were addressed. I left feeling confident in my care and look forward to continuing my vision care at this location. Highly recommend!

Great experience here. The staff and eye doctor were very nice and thorough. Janet and Gayle did a great job. Scheduling an appointment was very easy and they were on time and friendly. The doctor didn't up-sell me but told me the plus and minus of each type of lens. They had plenty of frames to choose from and helped me pick one out that looks great! I even took some silly selfies for my wife and kids. . I was very happy with my experience here.

Went to them for years and they have always been so kind and open about everything. They take their time when explaining the results for eye exams and make sure you understand what they're telling you. Have a great and wide selection of glasses.

B Doty vision care is absolutely amazing! The staff are so friendly and helpful! Dr. Magiske answered any and all questions that I had about my eye care, glasses and future appointments. He informed me of what was happening before it happened which is very important in patient care. If you're in need of an eye doctor I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with their office!!

I just wanted to write a quick review to say how much I miss Dr Mike and his staff. I was a patient for over 10 years before I moved to Florida 5 years ago and still haven't been able to find a doctor who cared, was always so accommodating to my busy schedule, very thorough and always just so nice. Dr Mike will always be my favorite eye doctor and if I'm ever in need of anything while I'm home visiting, I won't hesitate to schedule an appointment. If you're looking for an eye doctor with the small town feel in the fact that he takes good care of you and you're not just a number but services of a top notch optometrist, Dr Mike and B.Doty is the right place for you.

My first impressions of Dr. Magiske and staff were very positive, but, sadly, my impression went downhill rather quickly. For one test, the staff did not ensure I was positioned correctly (never assume), and the test had to be repeated. When I selected frames and was being measured for lenses, the frames were crooked. I asked whether the frames should be straightened before taking the measurements, and I was told it would be fixed on the final fitting; what good would the measurements do if this changed the focal point within the frames? Then, on picking up the glasses, despite my explaining repeatedly how the glasses were crooked, the tech kept making the OPPOSITE adjustment, making them worse. She then proceeded to explain to me that my eyes needed to be centered within the lenses, rather than the natural horizontal line of the frames being parallel to the floor. I felt as though she did not respect the fact that I've been wearing glasses for over 50 years and know how glasses are supposed to fit. On my next appointment 5 days later, I mentioned to Dr. Magiske that I was still seeing a double image, to which he replied, "We all have to put up with a little of that." A couple of weeks later, I decided I couldn't live with that and called the office asking what could be done. The doctor said -- through the staff, he never talked to me directly -- that I did not speak up soon enough to be within the time of the guarantee, despite my mentioning it less than 5 days after I received the glasses. I had to schedule an appointment with another eye doctor, who said my prescription was entirely wrong, and was sent on to a specialist who performed additional tests and confirmed. I now have a wonderful pair of glasses prescribed by another doctor and ordered online. Besides all of this, the bill was questionable and did not directly reflect services received. I was told that that was what he charged all patients, regardless of services received or time spent. My insurance was charged differently, though he end result was that the amount I owed was the same either way. The only reason I give more than 1 star is that the ladies who helped me select my frames were very friendly and helpful.

Everyone who works at B Doty is amazing, but Gayle is the BEST. She remembers me, she always takes the time to find the perfect frames, and there is no one I trust to choose my "look" for the next few years but her. Her eye for what looks great matched with the fact that she seems to genuinely care about every person who walks through that door...she is the reason I drive to McMurray and continue to come back.
