Allegany Optical

After myeyedr take over this business. Every time I come here, have to wait for at least 30 mins for someone to attend me. This is true when one customer vs 4 or 5 optical people. I hate this trend. Update 06/20/17: Gave my glasses 3 weeks ago for lens change. As of today have not got any message about my order status from optical. When i approached last week for status after 30 min wait i got a reply your order is delayed. No customer focus optical. This is going to be my last transactions with this optical. All this happened even at this point there is no regard for the delays.

This is no longer Allegheny Optical. The new name is MyEyeDr and thecorporate entity feel is palpable. Since Allegheny was purchased by this company, I've been bombarded by phone calls, text messages and emails hassling me to come in for an eye exam that's not due (I run on every other year, not an annual schedule). When I finally did go in for a routine exam, the staff was unbelievably disorganized. They gave me a 4 page batch of paperwork to fill out that was then tossed aside (and I was asked thr some questions by an assistant who put the data in a computer). At the end if the appointment, I ordered my contacts and was told that they would be delivered to my home (which they were). Three weeks later I got three phone messages urging me to come in to their office to pick up my contact order or it would have to be sent back. The saddest part is that I had really loved Allegheny and its team. Because of the last couple experiences with MyEyeDr, I'm now in the market for a new eye optometrist.

Person at the front desk was very rude. Nov 19, 2024 at 10:20 am. Also they want you to see technicians and not a real doctor, but send your results to a remote doctor to read everything, even though that's not a proper "exam" at all. Go elsewhere!

Spoke with the general Manager Shawn about retrieving prescriptions and taking them to another physician, he told me that I can "kiss his ass" that I am out three hundred dollars and refused to finalize the prescriptions! I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH MR. EYE DOCTOR AGAIN! I have used Alleghany Optical since I was thirteen and they just lost my business!

long wait times. Not enough staff. Glasses came in messed up and had to be reordered. Employee also failed to order translucent lenses so lenses had to be ordered a second time. staff is not competent.

Now partnered with MyEyeDr. All new inventory of frames, new computers but with the same doctor and friendly staff that has always been there!
