Your time is not valued at this office. I called in January to schedule an appointment and the first available was 5/23 at 12:45. When I arrived I was told the doctors left early to begin the holiday weekend not one phone call or email ahead of my appointed time. I then had to reschedule for today 8/26 at the same time. It is now 3:25 and I'm still here waiting to talk to the office manager. Stay away!!!!!!
Update I finally left and the office manager Jasmine called me the next day explaining that the staff member had yet to be trained on ordering contacts and will get back to me about placing an order. I then waited more than a month without the promised call back. How long does training take? I called them again and was able to place the order. I guess they just forgot about me and by that time the sample cleanser they gave me has now expired.
The staff and doctors are excellent, providing expert and superior care and service. My vision problem was resolved making safe driving possible. The optician has zero customer service orientation. He forced me to spend $$$$ on the style of frames with features he insisted on, without giving me a reason for his selection. This an optical store I would never visit again.
I would have stayed with this practice if I had three hours for an eye appointment, but I do not. If you don't have to get back to work, maybe this place is for you because Dr. Nolan is very nice, but the wait over the past two years has become absolutely absurd. I arrived at 8:30 for an 8:45 appointment and I left the office at 10:20 after skipping my dilation. I have a rare eye issue and skipping a yearly dilation is not safe, but I worried if I did it that I would be there for three hours instead of two. Dr. Nolan went as fast as she could and apologized, but then when I went to the front desk to pick up my prescriptions I had to wait another 15 minutes on top of the over 1.5 hours I had already spent in that building just to be handed a sheet of paper. I was going to be late for a meeting for work, so I went in the back and begged them to just hand me my scripts and send me a bill and they debated with me that I still needed to wait until the doctor came out and handed me the paperwork herself. The front desk is exceedingly rude, and for the record, I had an incomplete yearly eye exam that took two hours start to finish and only because I made a scene. They should seriously be embarrassed of what they have done to this practice.
If you enjoy long waits to see the doctor, this is the place for you. Packed waiting room. My annual appointment at 9:30 turned into a marathon. I still hadn't seen by the doctor by 11am. People were also lined up in exam rooms waiting. If only someone would communicate about the delay, it would go a long way to lessen frustration. When I quietly asked an assistant if there was only one doctor working that morning, the answer was yes. I assume that they schedule patients into time slots too frequently. The result creates a backlog of patients which is humanly impossible to treat in a timely manner. This is routine- not an anomaly. Seems nobody cares. It's how they run their practice.
I have found a new provider.
This place is AWFUL since being taken over by Wills Eye. Good luck getting an appointment, especially for contacts. The call center is horrendous, staffed by rude people. If you are lucky enough to get an appointment, be prepared to wait an hour in the waiting room. It's such a shame how quickly this place went downhill.
King of Prussia Wills Eye, is a heck of a lot better than Philadelphia. They are very professional and very nice, absolutely understood my anxiety issues and did everything to make me feel better and comfortable. They even numbed me enough to where I didn't even feel the eye injections and unlike Philly, they were quicker it didn't take 6 hours. They also offered to put me under when I get laser surgery. Since I have high anxiety. I don't understand the bad reviews, they are not bad at all. Heck of a lot cleaner and doesn't look like it's going to fall apart on you, like Philly does. I highly recommend KOP Wills EYE.
This rating is for one single person at the front desk answering phones to make appointments. I do not know her name. Her attitude is described as "impatient; not friendly; bothered; rushed" quite frankly deplorable. This was just from one phone call to make my appointment which is not until the end of the year. I will not rate the practice "in general" as one star because of a disgruntled employee, who obviously hates to deal with patients, should not impact the entire staff. This phone conversation took place in July 2024.
I rarely post reviews, but the service (or better said the lack thereof) since Wills Eye took over Dr. Katzman's practice has been monumentally abysmal, and if negative stars were possible, that would be my rating. I try to be kind to those in the service field, however I don't think it's too much to expect a basic level of respect in return. The front desk staff is rude and disrespectful, whether you are there in person or when you call (assuming you even get through to a real person). The clinical staff is ALWAYS running behind and waiting an hour+ after a designated appointment time is the norm. And today we were told to plan in at least an hour wait whenever we come. We loved Dr. Katzman and his staff. Never had experiences like this, but after several repeats of being treated like an assembly line with no regard for the value of my time, we will be going somewhere else that actually cares about patients.
