I am new to the area and called to set up an appointment for my daughter who has seen an ophthalmologist her entire life as it has been medically necessary for her to do so. This practice reports they see pediatric patients online. The receptionist was the rudest person I have ever encountered. She tried to tell me that my daughter's needs are not medically necessary, as if she has access to our 8 years of medical history. I felt she was talking to me like I was dumb and refused to schedule us with the doctor. Now, I'm a midwesterner with a southern flair, I have never been rude to someone like this in my life. From the looks of other reviews, I'm not the first who has encountered this.
When I mentioned that we have seen a pediatric ophthalmologist for 8 years and that was deemed medically necessary, her response was, "it's different here in Pennsylvania." Um...sure. Got it.
I can't say if the doctors are quality providers or not as I was deemed not important enough to be seen by the mighty gatekeeper.

I saw Dr. K for about 10 minutes in February 2026. I was given no paperwork when I checked out. I understand that Dr. Armesto is retiring and both Dr. Hoseys have left the practice.

Armesto Eye Associates is just a really good practice. From the front desk staff, to techs, to the actual doctors, everyone is friendly and caring. The doctors really take their time explaining your medical circumstances and make sure you actually understand your diagnosis and health needs. I greatly appreciate that you feel genuine compassion from the staff and not like you're being rushed through quickly. I highly recommend this practice.

The tech Jessica was really nice and knowledgeable. She did many tests on my eyes. Dr Armesto was nice although he seemed a little hurried. His assistant who was taking notes for him was not at all personable and unfortunately I didn't see her name. She ushered me to the exam room and never spoke a word in my presence. That is why I rated them 4 stars instead of 5. I have been a patient there for a long time and Dr Maryann Hosey who usually examines me is very personable as well.

I had cataract surgery . I am very pleased with my eye sight now. Everything is so bright and clear. I do need to wear glasses for reading. That is to be accepted after surgery. Dr Armesto did a great job and I thank him and all of his staff
