It was easy to schedule the exam online and complete the necessary documents. Communication with store staff prior to the appointment was via a two way text which was one sided and lacking timely responses. Completed my appointment with a thorough eye exam and decided to go elsewhere for glasses due to the communication issues with staff.

I'm sharing my recent experience at VisionWorks in Newtown Square, PA so other patients know what to expect. This review reflects my personal experience and concerns as a customer. When I scheduled my eye exam, I was told a doctor would be on-site. However, when I arrived, I learned that no doctor was present, and the exam would be done via telehealth because of the holiday. I was not informed of this beforehand. Although the waiver mentioned telehealth, I was not told that AI technology would be used as part of the exam process. When I asked which system was being used, neither the staff nor the remote doctor could identify it. I was only told the technology was outsourced through a third-party IT provider. As someone with a technical background, the lack of clarity was concerning. The findings from this AI-assisted telehealth exam did not match the results from my previous in-person eye exam with a licensed doctor, which made me question whether the virtual setup was able to provide the same level of detail or accuracy as a traditional exam. Additionally: Several components of a standard in-person exam -- including dilation and certain diagnostic checks -- were not performed. The person handling equipment onsite stated he had two weeks of training and was not medically certified. Staff also expressed that doctor availability varies by location and ownership, and couldn't confirm when an on-site doctor would next be available ("possibly next Saturday, but it could change"). I want to note that the employees at the front desk were professional and polite. My concerns are strictly about transparency, consistency, and whether the services provided match what patients believe they are receiving, especially when insurance is involved. Based on my experience, I no longer feel comfortable receiving exams at this location and will be seeking an in-person medical evaluation elsewhere. I believe patients deserve clear communication about whether a doctor is physically present, whether AI is involved, and what type of exam they are actually receiving.

I had an exam for updated contacts. All went well and they said I'd get trials first to try on within a week. I never heard so called after 11 days. First dealing with AI assistant then finally a person at Edgemont. Very nice polite and helpful. However my problem is there is a back order on these contacts. My problem isn't necessarily with the store employees but the company as I should have knowledge of a back order as soon as they know. Visionworks send constant messages to me about sales products or feedback on a visit then why isn't knowledge of a back order sent to me rather than me having to ask why the hold up! I rest my case. Please Visionworks get with the program of what customers want in customer service!

Visionworks Edgemont did a fantastic job today 1/17/26. I have some special needs due to a leg injury and everyone couldn't have been more accommodating. They helped me navigate through the eye testing and frame selection. I couldn't be happier with my experience. Thank you Visionworks Edgemont! 10 out of 10! Don't hesitate if you are in need of an eye exam and glasses. I appreciate you guys.

David & Austin were terrific to work with. The store held a vast selection of regular and sunglass frames and lense options. I normally despise glasses, but I am thrilled with my new transition lenses & frames. Great team.

Everything from the beginning to the end! First - the front desk was warm and welcoming! Then the person assessing my eyes was very thorough and friendly! & finally the doctor who finalized my assessment and wrote my prescription was amazing! And then picking my frames was easy too because the front desk explained everything that I needed to know about the glasses and ordered them for me! Unbelievable experience for me since it was my first time getting glasses ever!..... at 60 years old!

Staff was nice and was quickly serviced. Was in and out in about 30 min. That included picking out new frames for a new set of glasses.

I wanted progressive glasses for short distance only, which I explained to everyone. When I picked them up, they were for broad use - not short distance. I was told to re-see eye doc. A second pair was made - still no good. Then I suggested that I might need "computer glasses" whereby a different associate said he needs "work place" glasses. That worked. That was 5 trips to Visionworks for these glasses and 2 other trips for mistakes with my sunglasses.
