New to the area and needed an eye exam and found this place online. I thought the reviews were great and they did not lead me astray! Dr. Bernardi was fantastic and thoroughly explained everything to me. Was an overall great experience!

I had my annual eye exam today with Dr. Bernardi and, as always, received expert care. He takes the time to explain things to me...today's topic was cataracts, so I better understand what's going on in my eye. After the exam I meet with one of the opticians who helped me select a new pair of frames. I was impressed with her knowledge of the various kinds of lenses that she suggested and she never got tired of explaining my options to me. She was very confident and professional and I'm glad she was there for me. I highly recommend Pelham Vision Center!

I have been going there for a few years now, but this past experience, well, was the worst. The only person that seems to care is Courtney. Since they have been bought out, they now have a call center off site taking appointments, and beware, they will provide you with bad information that the office staff will not understand. After an appointment, I was given the prescription, and picked out two new pair of glasses, over a grand in total. Two weeks, they inform me that they are in, cool. The lenses for my sunglasses were not mirrored nor the tint I paid for, to boot, I was told that they would try to get it rushed as I needed them before the normal two week turn around time, and would be called, no one called. We are now going on a month waiting on my proper sunglasses, and when inquiring with the staff, attitude central, and promised return calls, and get none. Do you think they offer any kind of reimbursement to make things right for "their lab's" mess up, nope, just that they will do what they can, but don't. No one returns calls, you have to bug them to get a answer. This used to be a good practice, now gone to crap like everything else where it's just a business. I'm sure there are good people there, but the people that represent you on the phone, in office, is making me go elsewhere going forward. The lack of concern for your clients you have lost not only mine, but my families business as well. Save your money, and patience, and go somewhere else. I rarely leave bad reviews, but this warranted one.

Everyone is kind and professional. This is a great place, doctors and staff very caring.

BUYER BEWARE: I would've given 5 stars due to Dr. Bernardi's excellent care. He is very thorough, knowledgeable, and helpful. HOWEVER... 1) The optometric technician who prepared me for the exam did NOT tell me the imaging that was performed would cost me $49.00, out-of-pocket. She literally made it seem like it was routine, simply part of my regular, insurance-covered exam. Such an ill-bred tactic to "upsell" without the patient's knowledge makes me seriously question the honesty and integrity of the entire Pelham Vision practice and Elevate Eyecare. I DID end up paying the $49.00, as I ultimately thought it best for my individual eye care needs. So, I most likely would have opted for the service anyway, even if the technician had been upfront and honest about the additional fee. But the fact that the technician apparently thought she was "tricking" me into buying it is morally unethical and highly unprofessional. That's NOT good patient care; it's patient manipulation. Your patients deserve better than that. PLEASE provide transparency regarding any out-of-pocket pricing for your patients. Ultimately, my ability to make an informed decision was taken away from me. 2) The reception staff are largely rude and seem uninterested to greet/help patients when they arrive. Please don't treat patients like they're an interruption to your day. Customer service training is highly recommended here. 3) The frames/lenses associate attempted to grossly upsell me on lenses, without taking time to consult me on budgetary needs. I "get" that they want to make a profit, as well they should. But the initial price she quoted me for a single pair of glasses was absolutely outrageous. Try ASKING what a patient's needs are, prior to mocking up a package that's highly unrealistic for the average individual. 4) Lastly, the office, in general, is absolutely terrible with follow-up, so don't expect a callback when they promise to do so. You'll be waiting a very long time. ***I'm sure this review will eventually receive the typical canned, corporate response, with little to no personal satisfaction. But if this post helps any other patients make a more informed decision about their eye care, I will have done my due diligence through sharing my experience. I sincerely hope Pelham Vision will conduct itself in a more professional manner moving forward.***

I was planning on using Pelham Vision Center as my main optometry location because I enjoyed my experience for the eye test and prescription ordering. The part that lead me to use another optometrist is because after 2 months of wearing my new glasses the lenses started to peel making it impossible to wear them at night and annoying during the day. I tried multiple times to get the lenses repaired but the service team gave me generic messages saying the manager would reach back out. Since i never was able to receive help from this team i was forced to buy new glasses elsewhere. I will never go back here

As another reviewer shared we were not told about a $39 upcharge for a retinal scan vs an insurance covered dilation of both my children's eyes. Seeing as they are 10 and 14, had no symptoms nor risk factors this surprise charge at the end of the visit was not welcome. It is hidden in the form I was ensured was me agreeing to my children being seen. If they explained a valid reason why it was needed and informed me of what I was consenting to wouldn't have minded paying the extra $39 per child. But to be swindled out of almost $80 unnecessarily... infuriating. Unprofessional.
