Stewart Family Eye Care

I will never go to another eye doctor again! Dr. Stewart was the best. He cares about your eye health and helped me so much with my vision. I definitely recommend him.

Dr. Stewart is very knowledgeable, kind and has many years of experience. Today was my first visit and I really enjoyed his staff, their professionalism and warm demeanor.

Let me start by saying I've been through some eye exams in and around Greer, as has my husband, and I could share a thousand words of horror stories, but trust me when I say that Dr. Stewart is a cool drink of water in a desert of eye care in our area. If you're getting hung up on Wal Mart, don't. Dr. Stewart leases space from them and has been in his current location for decades. His office is private , and away from the Wal Mart storefront that sells glasses. It is clean, with all the modern equipment. I came for a first-time visit as someone wearing cheaters over her contact lenses to adjust a poor prescription from a previous provider. As a writer and professional reader, this just isn't acceptable. I had one goal: clear up close and distance vision, whatever it took to get that. Bifocals? Multifocal? Dr. Stewart is the expert. I asked what he thought. He offered me several possible solutions and made a recommendation for me to try multifocal contacts. I had the most thorough eye exam I've had in years. Wow! I can read my phone and the road signs. Dr. Stewart says things will become even clearer as my brain adjusts. I'm updating my review on day three to say this is exactly what's happened. Each day is better. I'm comfortable with no wonky "new prescription" side effects. Ever have that falling off a sidewalk feeling after a prescription adjustment?. Not this time. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Stewart's expertise and consideration to what I needed out of today's visit. I can't recommend Stewart Family Eye Care highly enough. They're great folks who do an accurate and thorough eye exam. A true FIVE STAR experience.

I was totally impressed with Dr. Stewart! I'm 66 years old and had more eyes exams in my lifetime than I would like to talk about! His exam was the most thorough and detailed exam I ever had with an optometrist. He addressed all my concerns and then some. I've had 4 eye surgeries on my right eye(retina detachment, cataract, etc.) he went in detail of what I should be doing to prevent these problems from happening again with my left eye. He prescribed eye drops to help with the build up of pressure in my eyes. He actually listened to what I had to say and didn't rush me out the door like all the other optometrists that I've seen ! I highly recommend Dr Stewart and his wife who works the front desk.

I have never given a bad review. I was a business owner for almost 30 yrs and I know you can't make everyone happy buy Dr Stewart could have tried today and he did not! I do not recommend Stewart Family Eye Care. I see so many wonderful reviews however my experience was terrible. I do have cataracts I am a crossroads to have surgery or get a new pair of glasses and he told me I would absolutely see better with a new prescription until I am ready for surgery. I waited thought about and prayed about it...do I get new glasses or go ahead with the surgery. Because of what he told me and the fact that I am so young I decided to wait on the surgery and get the glasses. My new prescription is not correct..during my first visit he told me I did not have a distance problem nor did I have an astigmatism which in not correct. I had to have glasses in the first grade due to not being able to see the black board from the back of the class. I have had eye exams my whole life and was told I have a distance problem and an astigmatism. The distance in my new prescription is not correct because everything is blurry worse than my old glasses. I went back willing to pay what I needed to pay to see better with a new prescription. He did not want to do this, everytime I mentioned fixing this one he was pushing the surgery. He never one time said ok let's redo the eye exam and start over, when I realized that that is where the conversation was going I said so I am going to leave here and have spent all of this money and time and I still can not see good. He then opened the door to the exam room like ok I am done. I never yelled, cussed or raised my voice but was questioning what he had told me previously and what he was telling me today. I have spent all of this money and can not use my new glasses, I can not see well but was assured with a new prescription I would. He was not willing to even try and give me another full exam. He pushed very hard for surgery. My eyes are strained everyday, headaches, blurry vision and I trusted Dr Stewart to help me. I am so upset and have exhausted my funds to go to another Dr to start over. I am so disappointed, heartbroken, sad and frustrated....... this is my vision we are talking about. Do not go here! I feel betrayed and so helpless.

First time see Dr. Stewart and I will say my visit was Amazing he takes his time, talks to you makes you feel welcome. The exam was different from other places it was very thorough. Office clean and receptionist was very pleasant besides her being the spouse very pretty lady. I enjoy talking to her as well. I look forward to going back next year for my annual visit.

I really enjoyed my experience here! They did multiple tests, many of which my previous doctors never did. They were kind, courteous, and timely as well! And when we were done I truly felt confident in my prescription and not like I was guessing this or that! Honestly I haven't felt more confident in a prescription ever! I could really see the difference when the tests were over! The experience was great from start to finish and I'd definitely recommend coming to them for your eye care needs!
