Irmo Eye Center

We came in to look at frames, and they were able to find us a pair we liked and fit us in for the eye exam right them. They said normally you do have to make an appointment for the eye exam. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Miller's staff member instantly recognized my optic nerves were swollen during the examination of my dilated eyes. She stepped out to get Dr. Miller without alarming me. Dr. Miller quickly entered the exam room, examined my eyes himself, and explained the findings. This is a condition that other eye doctors and neurologists had missed during NUMEROUS EXAMS to determine why I was having various symptoms over probably 10 years or more. Dr. Miller explained how serious the condition was and the need to quickly determine if the swelling was caused by a brain tumor or something more benign via MRI. He gave me the option to either go directly to the ER or to allow him to schedule the scan at my preferred hospital. I chose the second option. Luckily my condition was due to a more benign condition. Dr. Miller referred me to a wonderful neuro-ophthalmologist. Because Dr. Miller recognized my condition and took the steps he did, I haven't lost more of my field of vision. I also no longer wake up with an uncontrollably painful headache every day or experience debilitating episodes of vertigo and dizziness.

First of all, I would like to say that the Optician, Ms. Kengi McGahee gives you the utmost excellent service I have experienced with her. Ms. Kengi always takes her time to make you feel comfortable & she explains all the questions you ask of her concerning eyeglass fitting, insurance payments, & other concerns you don't quite understand. I would give her a 100 +++ on her job performance! The staff at Dr. Clay Miller is great as well & I have been very well pleased with their expertise & services,also! I would recommend anyone to come to this office!

Yesterday, my partner was squeezed in on a very short notice due to intense swelling and redness of his eye. He was incredibly sick throughout our entire time there, and we came to find within moments of being seen by Dr. Miller that he was suffering from acute glaucoma. After the diagnosis was made, a procedure was performed which greatly improved his quality of being, and we were very well educated on his recovery process as well as what he could expect in the coming days. The issue with his eye had been misdiagnosed prior (by a separate establishment), and within fifteen minutes of conversation with the doctor, incredible nursing staff, and the ladies at the front desk, (seriously, I cannot dote on the women on this staff enough) we had more information and a better understanding of the situation than we'd had for days leading up to our initial visit here. One of the worst days my partner, or even I personally experienced was made easier and far more comfortable by everyone who is on this staff. So, I think it's safe to say no matter what your visit is for, whether it's routine, or unfortunately as emergent as the one I was a part of, you're in the best hands you can possibly be in at Irmo Eye Center.

I've been getting severe headaches. I thought that the problem is with my glasses. I did go to 3 diff eye doc, got my glasses changed all 3 times with diff angles.... but still the headache persisted. I had to visit my PCP.... Did an X-ray and a CT scan which was negative. Later I was suggested to visit Dr. Clay Miller. And I must admit he is an angel. He did a few tests and prescribed me the right eye glass. My headaches stopped the very next morning. God bless Doc Clay Miller. He is simply wonderful. And I am so thankful to him.

Highly recommended! This group has been very helpful. They went above and beyond to help me with an issue before a trip I had. Dr. Manno has been outstanding in helping with my eye issues.

An excellent eye center! Friendly, helpful, looks after their patients! Love going there!
