Walmart Vision & Glasses

Can't say enough good about this place. Other than the blaring music--which they have no control over--it was such a great experience. The doctor who gave me the eye exam was quick, professional, very personable and easy to talk to. He actually took time to explain my options, and that there were new solutions available for what was bothering me. I was amazed. The folks who actually helped me with the glasses were fantastic: so friendly, calm, pleasant amidst a sea of customers and ringing phones. I didn't mind the 10 minute wait before my turn came up, the atmosphere was so pleasant, plus there were tons of eyeglass frames to look at and try on. The manager there really knew her stuff, it was obvious. So knowledgeable. As to the bottom line, money, I couldn't be happier. For two pair of prescription eyeglasses and warranty I paid less than what a single pair cost me at Edisto Vision Center (don't go there unless you're exceedingly wealthy and use $100 bills to light your cigarettes). Very reasonable prices for frames as well as the prescription lenses.

I went here on a whim 2 years ago to purchase glasses and was very impressed with the choice and service. Today, I went to get an eye exam and was told my eye exam was covered. That was the first pleasant surprise. Then, I was informed that a new pair of eyeglasses was covered as well. That was pleasant surprise number 2. The complete experience was very much appreciated, and I will be going back in future years to come. The staff was also very helpful and very friendly and understanding.

Orangeburg Walmart Vision Center employee of African descent (only to identify the person) in Orangeburg, SC, with hands that are only good for loading cement bags was asked to repair my eyeglasses since there was no one else available to do the job. I sat in front of him while he was literally butchering lenses of my expensive glasses ($300). He placed nose pads that were too large and the replacement screws holding them were humongous. What he did the has shocked me. Using a screwdriver he slowly dug into one of my lenses intentionally making a deep long scratch on it and continued to making another, smaller one while I protested and he then was done with the intentional damage. The next day I went to complain the manager of the Vision Center who told me this guy can't be punished since he was hired as part of Affirmative Action and thus offered me a measly $25 compensation out of their own pocket. Stay away from Walmart "optician" butchers. Go get your food and stuff there and get out. I am not a competitor, so I am not advising not shopping at WALMART as that may mean good savings, but stay away from the dangerous WALMART VISION CENTERS in Orangeburg SC and Red Bank SC.

Wonderful and polite customer service. Gerard was amazing and also the lady who works there (did not get her name unfortunately) was very helpful and prompt. :) they had me in and out in no time and hooked me up with some amazing glasses that i love!! Honestly the best prices, the SAME glasses are double and triple the price at any other eye doctor. My glasses are beautiful and well made ..thank you to the associates at walmart vision & glasses center!

Front guy seemed like he was just someone they hired off the street. Very unorganized. Rushed through the exam. Didn't seem concerned to listen to our needs. The glasses were wrong prescription when they came back. The only plus would be that I got an appointment the same day I called.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There are many different options in frames and lenses. You can't beat the price comparing apples to apples anywhere else in the area.
